hmm I gotta check the materials in our tux!!
besides that, I definitely convinced him black shoes are best for the navy tux (no more brown shoes!!) and us wedding party fellas. so now i'm picking out the shoes for everyone as well as the tie (navy, lilke the tux itself).

I'm leaning towards some allen Edmonds Verona for the tux shoes, with a polish on the black for a little slight gloss...

anyone have recomendations for am AFFORDABLE black shoe for a navy tux?? I thought of going the shiny-tux-shoe route, but think I prefer a more matte shoe with a shoe shine on it for a lil gloss. Dunno if anyone else would be looking to spend over $100, its that kind of crowd of fellas that dont really dress for anything.

thanks again fam.:smokin
Cheers!

That is a tough budget to work with...This article has a few options that might work for your party: http://dappered.com/2013/07/the-best-looking-mens-dress-shoes-under-200/

I found a pair of patent leather Cole Haan cap toe oxfords last year from Nordstrom Rack for $60. They're not amazing quality or anything but they got the job done when I wore a black tuxedo this past NYE.

Not sure about the Verona model to wear with a tuxedo. If it is the horse bit loafer that is coming up when I type it into google image search, I don't think that will work with your groom's choice of attire. Anyone else please feel free to chime in. My vote still goes towards getting some simple cap toe oxfords or bluchers. You're on the right track with getting the toes shined, though

Anybody know where some bigger (18 1/2 neck) can find a nice club collar shirt like this one or does this style not even work in a size that big?

In defense for K...he did go to a GQ party, where they have a lot of their models wearing ridiculously tight clothing.

where can i find shirts that are this tight?

i HATE having that extra loose material on my lower back...I want a nice snug all around fit.

That shirt was pinned in the back.

Wasnt there a leak a few yrs ago exposing them for the pins? I cant find it

18.5 off the rack might be hard to find especially in a club collar as it is. I suggest going custom especially since you want something like a club collar and you're not a common size. Look into Modern Tailor. Try their Test Shirt in White with a club collar for $35 shipped and MTM it isn't bad. Note that the test shirt's intention is to try and get your sizing right by making adjustments for your next order based on how the test shirt fits. The fabric isn't great but if you like it, go ahead and order one of their better fabrics with specs that you want; those are of much better quality and they're about $50-75 depending what you want.

I think it was J. Crew but yep, showed the pinning.

For those that want a particular collar, definitely go with MTM. I don't even have an off the rack dress shirt anymore because of this reason and I'm a common 14.5/32-33.

Yup was gonna recommend MT as well ....tesmmtm :pimp:

Since nobody mentioned this, try looking into getting your shirts darted.

eg

1000
Tailoring was already mentioned. Darted or have the sides taken in would work. If you need to slim the sleeves, taking the sides would be cheaper since it has to be opened anyway.

Exposed isn't the right word. It's common knowledge. They don't have time to tailor to specific model. So they pin.

I've stayed away from sales. Tempting as they are.

tax return comes in on thursday, trying to stay strong but man do i wanna go ham and cop some mcnairy's
