Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Hey guys, I'm one of the older heads in here (joined in 01) and really only post and follow this thread these days. I'm wondering if you could help keep the NT winning tradition alive and have your network "like" the picture. I am doing a bachelors auction for charity and would love the support we showed KSteezy in the TSB contest and others.

For those wondering, the shirt is Charles Tyrwhitt and the tie is a grenadine by Chipp2. Allen Edmonds Strands in walnut were worn.

Voted.

BTW, picked out some Gordon Rush Cooper for our wedding party (groomsmen in my friends wedding)...they were just $80 at Nordstrom Rack, so hopefully that suits these guys' budget. But walked around in em for a bit and found them pretty comfy overall. Though they do run small. But think its cool, simple and most importantly CHEAP. This way these country bumpkins will look sharper than choosing their own shoes (ugly square toe crap...yikes)

I'd love these captoes in the middle instead, but for the groomsmen budget, I dont think it'll fly

The navy tux rental was a push already. and as best man, i know my dude wants us all in the same shoe too.

Also "splurged" haha and bought some Coopers too. Love me some black x tan for just $70! Great with jeans. My Spring/summer shoe:

Altogether spent like $160 at the Rack after adding 2pairs of Happy socks. im not mad at that. That was in union square for you NYC folks..

In other news, thinking I want a bowtie for a navy j.crew thompson suit just to wear as my friend's date to a different wedding this week...thinking pink shirt underneath. Any bowtie recommendations?

Thankssss fam-a-lam8)

EDIT: I'm actually loving this tie for navy suit with pink shirt...thoughts? btw this is the sister of a girl who got married in october and the family/friends do bowties for guys attending the wedding (not in wedding party). hence my bowtie search. Not trying to be showoff

Nice job especially considering the budget.  Is that bowtie grey?

Can anyone help me find a belted cardigan or something similar to this from the Gant Rugger collection. I like the simple look maybe I could do without the pockets

Appreciate it fellas.
While you're at it go to hobby lobby, get one of those sewing kits for 7 bucks,it's a small pink or blue pouch comes with scissors, sewing needles, pins, various color threads, seam ripper, measure tape, random spare buttons, thimble, needle threader, and a white pencil to mark stuff. This has been invaluable to me, i swapped out buttons on mine and my gf's peacoat, fixed a button on a thrifted jacket that popped cause old stiff thread. Seam ripper to open up pockets, and I take my measuring tape with me thrifting when I remember to so I don't deal with dressing room disappointment and measure my current best fitting blazer to make sure I can cop something online.

I think I'm gonna cop a sewing machine at the thrift store and try my hand at slimming down some old shirts I was gonna donate cause it wasn't worth it to tailor them.

Club Monaco has one. Not sure how much though
Retail was a bit over $200. Didn't cop obviously.

Al Bundy

Yes that's true, its a very conservative jacket (especially in the natural color), but style icons like James Dean and McQueen wore them regularly as well as Elvis.

In Rebel Without A Cause, Dean wears one and is shunned by the cool kids as a square, so it has a certain anti-cool vibe to it which I love.

Unfortunately, since Baracuta was purchased by WP Lavori, the price was increased to $350 and you can only buy them online or at WP Lavori stores in Italy. I don't think you can buy the new version anywhere in the USA as far as I know.
Interesting about being bought. I think it's a casual piece for menswear. It may be conservative for street wear. I think it's a staple item that's pretty versatile.

I think I need a new pair of brown shoes and/or possibly some slightly casual black loafers?

Here's my deal...I started a new IT job. We basically manage all services for our clients and work with mostly lawyers. There's a handful of us and we basically dress appropriate for a lawyers office since that's where we are everyday.

I've basically been rotating button downs with a pair of JCrew khakis with old brown BR loafers that aren't comfortable.
Other days I'm switching inbetween these pants: (Basically a darker grey slack and a lighter grey with pinstripe...both fit well)

With those I wear these shoes which are really comfortable and I've had for awhile : http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/cole-ha...ferralID=dbd3e841-910f-11e3-9f1f-001b2166becc

I have a blueish shade of JCrew khakis that I keep thinking of wearing, but the black shoes are too dressy....and the loafers just seem meh with them.

Guide me.....in any way possible.

Was thinking either of these : http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/cole-ha...derby/3488703?origin=category&BaseUrl=Cap+Toe

Are those too much for run of the mill khakis?
