Thanks, man. Gonna take my mom out tonight to hit several locations and grab dinner. Hopefully some deals can be had for her. I was doing so well purging items and not copping until Adrian made me get that camo jacket. Since that day, like 3 days ago, I also copped the camo shirt, trousers, 5 ties this morning (Barneys Warehouse has great deals on them, even joints from Drakes and such), and this. I honestly don't need another navy trousers, but for $20...too hard to pass up. I have like 8 items from J. Crew sitting in the closet because they were copped at such a deep discount. I'll break them out sooner or later or gift them, lol.
I understand, man. The TOJ story is amazing in itself. The guy started the company with $300 and a lot of A4 papers, made enough money from it to start his own restaurant. I always see it as a side business running too casually (not to knock Drew since he's good in my book). There's 3 dudes manning the whole operation. Wait time can be inaccurate, and change from 20 weeks wait to 40 weeks wait. The fanboys will always defend with comments like "just wait", which isn't too professional.

Lol. Timeless pieces are never played, man. It's just been popular lately since menswear has been popular among the younger crowd in the last few years.

While I think many companies overdo monks and they have become far too trendy, I love my pair and wear them regularly. That being said, those suede joints for $66 are no bueno in my book.

To add what Adrian has already stated. The shape of the double monks and some of the colors that they're (1901) going with definitely make them look a little too trendy and giving it that "played out" vibe. Classic styled double monks like the Allen Edmonds pair that Adrian has or any others from the offerings of Meermin, Carmina, EG, JL, etc. those will be around for a good bit. The wearing it with one strap undone can add to that trying too hard factor as well.
