Dressing Better Vol 2.0

You wear a suit under it? If so, then maybe I should hold off and wait till I can get it in a L.

I think it's only in the soho store in NY and they only had two on the floor last night. Xs and m. Unless it's in another store or they restock you may be out of luck.

Anyone watch peaky blinders? I really like the style of dress shirts they wear with their suits. Cool to see them rocking boots with highwater pants and have newsboy caps and pocket watches.

Love that show. If you're going to rock the newsboy cap, make sure you put razor blades in the bill to slash gypsies with after they disrespect your mother

Hey guys, my parents are in NYC for the weekend, and they are getting me a pair of double strapped monks, what is the best pair under $500?

Epaulet is in NYC. Stop by there, they have Carmina double monks on sale for 395 on their site. Maybe they'll honor it in store too

J Crew has a lot of options in their slim ludlow pant.
225 for a pair of pants though

Im on a budget lol

Has anyone heard of this company before? Seems like a decent option for entry-level suits outside of the typical H&M, on sale JCrew, or any other cheap option. Thinking of trying one out since they offer free returns for 30 days.

free returns are key for them...you can see just from this video how poorly it fits the model

Oh I'm sure they'll need tailoring. But I figure at ~$200, it can't be too much of a risk when I can always just return.

Been checking them out too after just finding out about them.

Dappered has a thread that might be helpful:

Good looks man!

Any tips on a bowtie and shirt to go with this? I also have the matching blazer I'll be wearing. I have to go to a "Gatsby" themed charity even next month so I'm trying to look the part.
I don't believe Gatsby would wear this in the winter. But if that's a look ur going for perhaps Navy dotted bow tie w/ pocket square (doesn't have to match the tie exactly) and a white club collar shirt. Good if u can find one with a collar pin.

Has anyone experienced problems with H&M jeans after a while? Where the pants get stretched out/get looser down at the leg cuff area? And them just not fitting in general after a while?

I wouldn't be surprised with issues like that when it comes to HM's general quality. Brands like HM are designed for functionality and disposability, and not longstanding quality. I basically expect an HM piece to last maybe a year to a few years at best before looking worn out. I've bought sweaters before and within a few months, they already look beat up.

I expect my HM pieces to last me a couple years at most. Their jackets will last a while though. I bought some black chinos for work and they are holding up nicely, attract dirt like no other though.

Yes. Just like Ikea, the concept is that when it wears down, you don't feel bad about it. Money well spent. I had chinos from H&M years ago that I wore when I did a lot of manual labor in. Joints eventually ripped and thinned out, but $40 well spent for regular wear for a year or so. You don't buy fast fashion for quality that's gonna last generations.

Been a while, today:

Gun [emoji]128299[/emoji] to my head, I'd choose the second one but I don't really like any of them lol
