Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Thanks guys. Yea, its the Madison suit from SS. The pocket square had little more going on than what the picture shows. It had multiple colors in it, but the green showed the most. I actually need to step my pocket square game up a little more  . I have a ton of ties and shirts, but maybe like 7-8 pocket squares. I tend to go with solid pocket square to be conservative at work.

A few of SS styles fit me perfectly off the rack, but I had to take this one to my tailor. Before hand, the pants were a little too wide for my liking and baggy in the crotch area. The sides needed adjusting along with the sleeves.

What knot did you tie? That knit looks like it's from TTB (I say that as I have the same one)

I think the tie knots like s*** IMO. Never wear it anymore because of that.

Yea I used the double 4 in hand knot. It tends to work well with my silk & wool ties, but I skruggle getting it right with the knits.

How do you guys usually tie your knits?

Yeah, knowing its a knit explains why the double four in hand didn't work too well. I've seen it done but depending on the weight of the knit, I usually just got single. If it's hefty enough, it makes a good sized knot without having to double.

This dude pulled a miracle on those pants that were too tight. Think they're perfect now. In total this ended up being a $200 job for the 4 pants, instead of the original $145. Really happy that I don't have to spend that money on new pants though.

Edit: pic of new fit

A "crunchy knit" works best.

Anyone have a grenafaux tie from TTB?

Thoughts on dainite rubber sole option for AE's?

About to order brown Mcallister and bourbon Lexington. Lexington says its a roomier fit. Is it the same last as strands and Mcallister or do I need to size differently?

I can't see what's wrong with the dainite options

The Lexington is on the 65 last which is the same as the Strand and McAllister.

Are you planning to cop during the upcoming sale, which starts on the 10th?

Also, what do you guys think about the Meermin classic line? Especially compared to Allen Edmonds quality wise?

I think I much prefer the lasts on Meermin.

I haven't kept up to date, but I know that Meermin used to have a ridiculous wait time and the return issue could be a nightmare. Don't know if any of that's improved.

Just want to get you guys' general thoughts on this.

I blogged about this. Quality is better than AE's.

a, is the neck line of your je quilted villain rather wide? can you see the neck line of the tees you wear underneath?  debating on purchasing the quilted one vs the regular villain crew.

yes it's quite wide.

I had an issue with the sleeve stitching unravelling and JE was kind enough to swap for the regular villain crew. avoid the quilted at all costs. detailing is dope but that neckline was a killer.

Fashion related, I recently wrote a brand feature on one of the better denim manufacturers around, Ksubi.

I don't know if NT is up on the rebellious street wear brand originally from Australia, so here's a small write-up I did on them.

Brand Feature - Ksubi

In part II, I will review a pair of jeans from my collection.

Check it out, feedback is welcomed!
