Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Got the Red washed canvas one's when they were in stock, the canvas was noticeably thicker than typical Vans. That made it a bit more uncomfortable breaking them in, but after a couple weeks they felt like regular Vans. Same insole and everything as the general release Vans otherwise.  I think they're really comfortable, moreso than Chucks, definitely a softer insole.

Bought a Lazio at SuitSupply today in Georgetown but I'm picking it up next week since it needed some tailoring done. Anyone know how good their in house tailoring is?

Nothing too complicated, getting the pants hemmed, seat let out a bit, and one sleeve lengthened since apparently my right arm is just a tad longer than my left.

How's the sizing again? Haven't worn Vans since the slip ons in the mid to late 2000s.

Also just saw the current retail prices for Chucks...boy they went up

I wear a sz9 in Vans Authentics

9 in Clarks DB

Just the full range in case

But absolutely, Vans, Chucks, DB's everything has gone up like crazy.

Miss the days of walkin into a skateshop and grabbing Authentics for 30 bucks, swap meet Chucks for 20, etc.

Currently wearing these out for the spring/summer. Swapped out the white laces with the raw hide laces that come as an alternate to the J Crew Vans.

Vans Era Decon in Green Napa leather from the Vans California collection. $25 at the outlets!

I ordered my first pair of vans a couple months ago and messed up the sizing. I'm an 8 in converse and Clarks and went with an 8.5 for Vans and they are still too small. Should have gone with my Nike size of 9.
Speaking of which, if any NTers are an 8.5 in Vans and interested in the Blue Suede slip ons, I've got a pair sitting in my closet that I'd be happy to let go for cheap.

PW in F7 had me thinking about some vans for this summer

wont eem lie
Bro, with your physique...all you need is a slim t shirt, dark denim, and Chucks or Vans.

Frankly, that's where I'm going too. While I still love different aesthetics, ie lux kicks and goth ninja, I can't see myself dropping bread like that again in future.

Thanks, dudes for the sizing advices. I'll try to see if there is a local branch with sizes. We have discrepancies here. I'm a size 8 in Clarks DB, size 10 in the Flyknit Lunar 1, and 9 in most Nike bball kicks

I forgot Vans got an outlet, will try to check them out. I remember I jumped on them back then because I couldn't balance paying $100+ for sneakers while trying to mod my car. Cats are now buying the new retro J's at around $200. Yikes.

They definitely get better with age, personally I bought them a while ago specifically to beat them up. I wish I had a pic handy but I'd say go for them. They're not too expensive that you'd regret getting them dirty, and they can be had for cheap at the outlets if you get lucky as well. Really versatile shoes, can be worn with shorts or pants, and can go with a different number of aesthetics.

Yes, I love Vans.

I tried rocking with lux sneakers and my SLP's and Lanvin's collect dust. I love to beat up shoes, and I kinda did beat up my white SLP's for a while, but they just cost way too damn much to do that. I'm still a poor med student

If I'm not in scrubs and flyknits, I'm in gym clothes or APC's, a grey t shirt and vans/chucks.
