**The Official Ralph Lauren Polo Thread**

Agreed.

And, just to touch on the subject of what I'd like to see Ralph do as opposed to what he is doing - I don't think it's as much of an issue of kind, so much as of degree. I don't mind going back to the well of Indian heads, or whatever, but there are two things I don't like when he does. One, it's how prolifically he uses certain [recycled themes]. Two, I'm not crazy about taking elements or graphics that once held weight and not only whoring them out, but doing so on lesser pieces or lines.

I didn't mind the retro Indian head tee on the DS line at all - I bought multiples of that. But, making dozens of Indian head themed throwaway joints on the take-down line, not so much. So, I'd prefer he was a little more judicious.

FTR, I really liked that light red Canyon Guide polo. I could have done without a few of the nicked details, but overall, I thought it was pretty well executed.

So, maybe my point here is that I'd like to see fewer stronger pieces vs. wider collections that are more watered down.
Yes. The one good thing that comes out of RL flooding the racks is that there's much more of the quality items left over when the sale discounts hit than there used to be.

i have multiples of that D&S indian too. and you're right, there are about 10 different indian head designs at the D&S store in union sq.

I've totally been off my RL game in 2014. Long shot, but is there any spots still with those RLX cargo pants that dropped in the spring/summer?

Vintage Polo canvas deck shoes and denim crest button down I acquired recently. Been looking out for the simple and clean vintage pieces alot lately.

Feels, walked by the place that used to be Rugby in Georgetown last week, ended up buying a blazer from J. Crew... I miss Rugby :smh:

I remember seeing those in store a few years ago. Were they made in the US as well?
not sure, but I'm sure those were the ones.

do I actually own something that superman doesn't have? Lol
 yes you do, and repped. Those are what I would consider one of RL s top 5 loafers designs...so much you can do with them. I'm hoping to see a new variations, or run across a pair that's still in good shape.

Dame out here pretty consistently in polo...

mixxy flow but consistent, still...

and he dropping jewels in these interviews BTW

Thinking about swooping the Fleece Athletic Pant but not sure how they fit?

I wear a 38/30-32 and I wanted to know if I should roll with XL or XXl.

I know they have a sizing chart but with sweatpants not sure if I can trust it.

I don't want them to look like hammer pants but I don't want them to look like I'm going to an aerobics class either.

Any feedback on the fit?

That's the size I wear, and here's my problem with most of those kinds of sweats. If they don't have elastic, and tight elastic at that, at the bottom, it's a non-starter. If you're going to wear them baggy and you're a shorter dude buying a large size, they'll be too long and the holes at the bottom will be too wide and the pants will come over your shoe and drag on the floor.

It seems like back in the day, all Polo sweats had those nice elastic bottoms, and now very few of them do. Some of them have the tie though, which is salvageable. I used to wear Polo sweats a lot in high school, around the school. When you had early morning gym class, you rock those - gotta be low enough so the Olafs or authentic Nike college shorts poked out, and then after gym you either walked around the halls in the Olafs (sometimes inside out, to show the tag) or then changed into your jeans.

The old school sweats were a staple in the fit game for high school(one leg up days)

.

The creme joints with the navy pony were my favorite.

And like you said taking away the elastic killed it for me too. I had a pair of non elastics I got as a gift a few years back and I gave them to my girl for pajama bottoms because the fit was so weird.

These looked like with the drawstring bottoms they might work but still a little sketch.

I'm 6 feet so I might roll with the XL because I'd rather have them fit even if they are not as loose as I like.

Frank, the Americana group has me charged for Fall. There's been lots of native patterns this year aready so I wouldn't be suprised if most of Americana sat until clearance. I like Litchfield a bit better so I'll start there and work my way down the list.

The winter footwear has two pair that I know I'll have to buy. This season may 've the most complete rollout to date when it comes to having something for everyone.

Yeah Americana has me charged as well. I saw a couple fall footwear pieces on the site and thought of you. Looks nice, overpriced, but nice.

Nice pics, one other low level Rugby bite, is the current gothic P fleece hoodie that was already done with the R on rugby
Frank you ask the magic question, "what would we like to see from RL?" I wish they could pull a few enthusiast from this forum and let us brainstorm for a few months, bet we could come up with some really nice things for the next 5 yrs
For now they can retire the indian head graphics for at least 5 yrs ( keep the beacon, serape, Aztec prints thou)

I think this goes back to what I was saying about the business side of RL, being a public company and all. Trying a new idea for a collection outside of the 5 or 6 themes they keep reusing is very risky from a financial standpoint. They release the same **** and they can expect to do the same numbers. Release something new and it's unknown. The line flops and they miss their quarterly numbers. They miss the quarterly numbers and investors cash out. I really believe these other lines are sounding boards for new ideas. They can test what works with out affecting the blue label cash flow.

Blue label on the sportsman, I hear the country label is rarer, but I couldn't tell the difference Lol...
I

Speaking of. Mesh snapbacks with the full polo country label on the front. Spring 2015

blue label=$1500-2500. purple label=$3000-$5000+

That beacon shearling from Frank's IG is nice, but that state/red/white patern is already over-used this season in the men's line.

I think the last shearling bomber was $1995. The jacket from fashion week is not releasing, there is one releasing identical to last years though. I hate the shearling poking out through the cuffs, looks feminine. Wish I would have kept the one from a few years back without it. I think that might actually be it in those FW pics.

The beacon shearling has a chief head graphic on back if you missed that. And supposedly the pattern is a brand new, custom job for this particular jacket only. If thats the case they weren't very creative. Looks like the same beacon we've been seeing for years.

So, maybe my point here is that I'd like to see fewer stronger pieces vs. wider collections that are more watered down.

Now is that for preservation purposes or are you actually looking forward to purchasing more watered down collections? I do get it though.

It's crazy cause Fall 1, 2 and 3 all have pieces that are online right now. These collections are all blending together. Too much stuff releasing in too little time these days. Not seen any Fall 4 yet though.

Aye can you gimme me a price on this? I'm in love with this

I don't have a price but if I had to guess I'd say $1500-$2000. It's not fully lined, only the collar is shearling otherwise $2000+ for sure with that chief head.

Thanks fam. This was actually helpful. I'm going to roll with the XL and keep my fingers crossed.

I think I may have miscommunicated or you may have misunderstood.

I'm saying I'd rather see new collections be smaller but with stronger pieces, as opposed to being large, but not being tight all the way through.

I know that the company has to move units and do numbers, but personally, I'd rather more killer, less filler.

Does anybody know around when will the native american cardigan that they have for kids will drop in a mens size? I really want that piece.
