**The Official Ralph Lauren Polo Thread**

Question:

Picked up a Polo sweater at TJ Maxx.

The tag on the collar says "Made in Hong Kong".

But the tag on the inside around the hip, says "Made in Italy".

What is going on?

Thanks in advance.

post a picture. only thing i can think of is that the material is made somewhere and then the sweater is assembled / "made" somewhere else

Just curious, was there more then one sweater available when you bought it from tjmaxx? Maybe you could compare the two. Or if you've purchased another sweater in the last 3 yrs compare those to the one you have. If anyone else has a sweater with the black care tag, post a pic I'm curious to see it.

This was the only one in the whole store.

And I tried to search for this particular sweater online and can't find it (what season/name/etc.)

I haven't purchased any Polo in years, so I'm outta the loop and can't compare to anything I have at home.

Thanks p!

Hi 1978S that is not an authentic polo Ralph Lauren sweater if you look at the tag it appears someone took a Ralph Lauren tag and sewed it into some other sweater thats not ralph lauren and the bottom care tag always matchs thed top tag i have been wearing ralph lauren for over 20 years im sure of this please return that sweater asap and be more care next time

I can almost garuantee that sweater is not ralph lauren and just had the polo tag swen in. The black inside tag gives it away. I've seen a number of items with sewn in tags in the discount retailers. People running scams and the returned merchandise ends up at marshalls/tjmaxx

Really, really appreciate it fellas. I had a feeling this was fishy when I got home and the manufacturing countries did not match.

I will be returning this asap.

Thanks for all the help!

Appreciate it fam, and thanks for ya'lls patience with my ignorance.

Haven't bought new Polo in damn near 15 years.

@SP- great pick ups

The Polo Bar is booked in February most likely due to the fact that fashion week is from the 12-19.

The waiters and servers most likely are oblivious to PRL clothing unless they see a polo pony. They were hired based on restaurant experience, not on knowledge of PRL clothing.
well said Jay.

That was my next guess, Frank....I just hate to be the bearer of bad news. I've never seen a black care tag on a blue label item, only white on vintage pieces.
If you have the receipt, just return it.
