Was up there this weekend. They only had Larges and XL ! They've had for a while since early January. Now that they're on sale, they don't have my size. Can't win them all.

The hype is a good thing I would think Jay. All the items you were able to obtain( i'm sure for good prices) are now going for insane amounts. It's like buying apple stock on opening day. You can at anytime double or triple your money. Who cares who's jumping on the trend now. At the end of the day Ralph could care less about you and me.

That's only relevant if you want to unload pieces. If you want to continue growing your collection, then you are in the same boat as everybody else.
The money aspect of things is just a reality at this point - it was probably actually worse 5-6 years ago. The top tier pieces continue to go for insane dough, but a lot of the second-tier stuff in terms of pricing is probably cheaper now than then.
So, nowadays you gotta pay to play. It sucks, but it is what it is.
Sure, if you've racked up stuff back in the day, you could move something you paid much less for and get something high-priced back, but giving up a gem or paying a grip isn't exactly the ideal set of choices. I mean, it's not like you can replace the item you paid little for at the price you originally paid anyway, so it only works if you basically want to trade. And, of course, if you decide to cash out, you're winning financially. But that's the difference between a P-Wing and a share of Apple - when you bought Apple, the goal was always to cash out. If you were doing this when stuff was available on the cheap, you likely weren't doing this with cashing out as the endgame.
I feel what you are saying, but it's like yes and no, ya know. That said, when dudes do decide to liquidate, you don't see them complaining about prices at that point!
I think the better argument you could make about the high prices is that for "power" the market has remained relatively stable. So, yes, if you want something heavy now, you're going to have to come out of pocket. But, if you decide to move it later, you should be able to get most of your money back. So, to the extent you can consider things like this "investments" they are fairly stable assets. I prefer not to think of these items like that, but once you're dealing with a certain level of money, it kind of becomes a necessary evil to do so.

^^^ I'm curious to hear an example of 2nd tier items...because some of the thrift store online sellers in the US and in the Malaysian market, thinks a bear sweatshirt commands prices of $150-200. No disrespect for someone who paid that much or who is selling at those prices.
For me the game was always about collecting, I buy very little in terms of resale (maybe 2%) unless I have doubles, most things I've sold was solely because of the cut or sizing issues and now only for purposes of trading value. A lot of the things I sold I have seller remorse for now....smh. But as I was saying earlier in regards to vintage, I just bank on getting lucky...which happens just not as much. I'm Just mad because I passed up on a lot things I could've gotten a reasonable prices (I passed up a p wing tee that was BIN for $50 maybe 9-10 yrs ago...now replicas are going for $250? Huh?....again no disrespect to the sellers out there, get your hustle on).

No worries my friend, I have know idea when they are coming out, but rest assured you shouldn't have a problem finding them.

I have 'give-away' remorse...alot of pieces i acquired from the late 80's to early 90's, I ended up just giving them away to relatives and friends. The ones I ended up keeping to this day have sentimental value.

I wouldn't even put bear sweatshirts in that tier - and I'm not being uppity. I wear bear sweatshirts all the time.
License b-downs hitting 300. Spellout tennis rugbys 300 - 400. Non-"power" hats getting several hundred. Just a few things that I recall.
Others may have additional anecdotes.

still too much IMHO, in regards to the license bd and spell outs...I'm still living like its 2001 never mind me...I have one license bd, I wanted another but not at those prices. I'm glad to have one, so rather then spend $300 on something I have but in s different color doesn't work for me. That is why I only deal now in must haves. I have a list, a short list, everything else I get better come by luck is my motto.

Nah. I hear you. I'm saying, they run for less than that now - but were pulling more a few years ago.
I guess items go in cycles though, because things like Aztec knits were floating around for like $100. Now nobody wants to get rid of them for under 200, and a lot of sellers are trying to get close to 300.

Just got my last order in...
They messed up on my bucket hat I ordered tho...I wanted the navy/org with the reversible floral but they don't even have that one in stock yet so imma just end up keeping this one I'll still pull it off with something
I copped this bucket for my son....
Cool buckets. Just copped this one today for my friend's kid.
