Nike Air Raid?

I cleaned these up a few weeks ago.

had the o.g.'s back in the day as well. never strapped them up as this was the time Deion Sanders started wearing his gloves and shoes unstrapped as well. Damn near lost my mind when I played on the outside court and the shoe made a squeaking sound. Later on I found out that these were made for outside playing anyway. If they retro the all black colorway, I will definitely pick up a pair...

Wow, I also got mine at the Nike outlet for $29.99. I didn't remember that until you just said it now. I didn't scoop up the black/grey OG though I got the white/black colorway with the black straps.

:nthat: got these when they first came out, and everyone else had the black/greys.

i have the white/blue ones, i wore them to play ball in them and the sole started to seperate due to being old :smh:

It would make aboslutely no sense for them to do a different type of sole on these if they retroed again. The sole is the whole point of the shoe. They were designed with what was supposedly a more durable sole, and the midsole kind of shapes up into a heel cup, so you really can't change that.

Any of those would be nice although I definitely prefer black on black one or the LEs, not shown on the pic here if I can ever have a chance to choose. (These OGs are all un-wearable and I miss them a lot even tho i've still got couple of retroes to wear...)

First time ever seeing that brown "Peace Edition" colorway. Nike should retro the entire Peace Edition set, clothes and all. I always wanted the jacket and shirt/jersey.

i use to be in love with this shoe when i was in middle school... just never had the funds to buy them a retro would be nice to see again

I remember my HS being flooded with these when they retroed, lol. Never bought a pair though I liked them, but never enough to buy a pair. That pair with the Urban Jungle print is dope though if they retroed that CW i'd cop.

Nice shoe but it didn't really appeal to the general Nike fan. Raids always went on sale. I remember seeing the urban jungle print version as a kid at Ross for $24.99.

The sole makes the shoe work; these were the first pair of shoes I bought back in highschool with cash money at Foot Locker. I stayed strapped that summer.

I like the way the shoe clearly had stamped into the sole "For outdoor use only". If I recall roccectly Nike brought these out to compete with Reebok's "Streettball" series of bball kicks.

No point in releasing these if they are going to change the midsole, add a 360 midsole air unit, any of that nonsense...

Showing my age here, but I remember as OGs, these were like an epidemic in NYC. EVERYBODY had them, and the funny thing to watch was how different everyone treated the straps. People did any and every possible thing with those straps except actually strapping them. Some cats even cut them off all-together, which I have to admit, still looked pretty good, mainly on the OG colorway.

Yeah, I got them, because I used to be a Tim Hardaway fan, but then I hated them because EVERYONE had them so I stopped wearing them.

Yea I remember having the Peace Raid II's as a kid, never really liked the I's eventhough everybody had them. I was really into ACG's as a kid, as was the whole DMV and they were the closest thing to a bball acg lol...

Word.

What we did with straps on shoes at that time was definitely a "parents just don't understand thing." I remember adults always cracking wise on my unstrapped Huaraches, 180 Forces, etc.

Actually, I never loved the Air Raid. The advertising was a great though. It's one of the few iconic shoes from that era that I've never owned. I'd consider an OG pair at a decent price for collection purposes, but would probably pass on yet another retro unless they hit super duper cheap. More symbolic to me than actually desired.

Back when I worked at Finish Line from 06-09 I remember they were retroed and got a nice sun tan on the shelves.

I copped a pair when they hit the "$50 Spot" with the 30% off. They are just way too heavy to do anything in.
