MJ's legacy as a ball player is perfectly fine - the man took the NBA to the global stage and made it what it is today.

JB's legacy (Jordan Brand) on the other hand is no better than that of FUBU, Phat Pharm, etc... Look at the sheer amount of retro and inline product they are putting out. With everyone and their dog being a 'sneakerhead' and taking care of their sneakers, JB runs the risk of oversaturating the market with mediocre re-releases and the brand as a whole as a whole becoming a 'fad'. And you guys know what happens when a brand becomes a fad...

OP, why did you put the :pimp: icon by the way? This thread seems like a complaint thread, yet you're dropping your hard earned cash on JB junk?

What a laughable thread......if your gonna complain about the quality then dont buy the shoes.........
but the fact is that some of us want to buy the shoes, and we do that , but with every buy we are getting ripped off

EXACTLY, you don't get anything you pay for now from clothes to shoe you complain but yet you all buy and then try to resale so when it all boils down no matter what the make model or quality if you don't buy someone will

Jordan's legacy will never be tarnished...But the Brand, well that's another story...

THIS

and Jordan Brand is not the only company that is slacking after they know they sell the stuff anyway.
Nike, Apple, Nokia and many other brands do the same when they know their stuff sells well anyway
and save costs in production/quality.
This goes on until their revenue is going significantly down. Then they will react...either a bit or drastically
to win their customers back. Sad phenomena.

Clearly, by the way his shoes have been selling and how so many of you guys praise him over every current star, his image is damn-near invincible. He'd have to commit murder to put a dent in it. This old Sports Illustrated cover sums it up pretty well:

1000

There is definitely no correlation between his hall of fame career and his brand. You have to remember that there are people who run the brand, not him. On top of that, it's a business at the end of the day. What he did on the court was legendary.

Jordan's legacy has nothing to do with his shoes once he retired. Plus, he is most likely not in the room when materials are picked for the shoes. He barely does anything for JB other than supply his name which is all he has to do. To think the quality of a retro shoe ruins his legacy is absurd, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul

I don't think it's even close to being that cut and dry in terms of MJ is screwing us... The company that shares his name sure is though

His legacy as the best ever on the court will never be tarnished but in my eyes i dont even like him at all now. Now that we know he is a huge arrogant butthole who thinks his crap doesnt stink and has no appreciation for the little people who made him who he is makes me not like him at all anymore but can still say he was the greatest ever. The shoes have nothing to do with him or his legacy

look at the poll results, im not the only one that thinks this.

I'm suprised on the poll result. Simply shows that half of the people here are hypebeast and could turn a blind eye despite being raped by JB.
Nike and JB are all for the money. They have an erection every time they see on how people go crazy on every release. And they don't care whether how
many people will die as long as they make a killing on every penny that all of us have.
There's no more legacy, only greediness.

well said my friend, well said. I've never seen so many retros being released in one year. I mean, i've been out of the game for 2 years, but I recently came back and saw how much it changed. all i see are a lot of folks who see a new release and just want to jump on it because JB released it...what happened to standards?

 the general population has no idea what goes on with his shoes other than that they exist and sell. You think that just because J's are getting made more cheaply it 'tarnishes' his legacy as a player?

Jordan legacy will never be tarnished. His shoes will sell regardless. They just need to get rid some of the unnecessary shoes that they come out with like those "Flight 23's" and "Big Ups".

jordans legacy wont be tarnished as a player. if youve ever met or seen the guy in person though, hes not that nice. cant say that its his fault as hes probably never heard the word "no" for most of his life, but thats another story. as for his shoes, jordan brand is in it bc for now theyll make the same profit regardless of quality. ive personally stopped buying a lot of jordans other than to sell or trade for other shoes i want due to this. they could have had a lifelong supporter in me if they produced a quality retro that didnt leave me with questions or doubt. yeah some are fine and acceptable but i dont get that same feeling from when i first bought the ogs. that alone would generate more revenue later down the road from straight online reviews since everything is on the internet and easily attainable. whatever though. everyone in that company is eating good so i guess theyre on the if its not broken, dont fix it mentality.

i remember when people would tell me that buying jordans was only for the name and i would stick up for the quality quoting the XIs (2001s) and the XIIs (2004s) and that they are very comfortable and a great shoe so we were paying for the quality but honestly now when people say that about nike and JB i cant stand up for it cuz its true now and that is sad for a company to go so crappy after originally having an above par quality/performance shoe
