RGIII played well. Held good mechanics and was able to get the ball out fast. All I was really looking for for preseason. RGIII and Garcon was able to build a connection which made up for RGIII & Royster slow start. The offensive line held up well to my surprise and the officials made good calls. Great debut and there is a lot of room for growth.

A pleasant "surprise" that shouldn't be a surprise....but with DC I have just grown numb and accustomed to Murphy's Law around here. That went.....strangely well. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

Everything just seemed right. And when they played grossman you saw a drastic difference. I can't believe rex used to be our go to guy :{

I hope his growth continues. I'm really happy with his play in the short amount of time that he was out there.

I'm impressed with the defense. They were harassing the qb's all night. I hope banks makes it.
It's not looking too good for Banks, but he did make it last year so it's a possibility. Dude is listed at 5'7 160 or so.....who knows how big he really is and Coach is judging him based on his performance at WR.

Yeah forget Good Rex/Bad Rex....I'm better with No Rex.

Morris trying to earn some carries I see

Someone tell the defense there is a football game going on....sick.gif

Sad to say as a Redskins fan but this is the RG3 I saw in college until his senior year.

And I am happy there was way to much hype

But you know what? I think all of us knew this day was gonna come where he actually looked like a rookie. O-Line didn't do him any favors and that's a HUGE issue b/c Griff is gonna get killed if he has to run around 80% of the time to make a play. I did see a very nice throw from him to Santana in the first half, but he needs to learn to throw the ball away, slide when scrambling, and also when to step out of bounds instead of taking a hit.

Other things...

*Kirk Cousins - yea. Dude looked GREAT last night. I'm all for anyone supplanting Rex as our #2, and he looked the part. Dude was in the zone last night.

*Aldrick Robinson - THIS is why Brandon Banks won't make the team. Robinson can actually contribute as a WR. Banks' return was nice, but Shanny said he needs to do some things as a WR to make the team. He hasn't, and frankly, I don't know if he can. Robinson has put both Banks and Anthony Armstrong on notice. My depth chart at WR:

Garcon
Hank
Moss
Robinson
Morgan
Briscoe

*Alfred Morris - He wants PT. Dude runs HARD. And most importantly, he falls forward. He's in the mix right now.

Negatives:

The defense sick.gif

The injuries

The offensive line

I agree with your points of course he will have bad games many to be exact but I saw the issues that made me feel the brakes needed to be pumped on RG3.
His pocket prescence is not great. He is very out of control when he runs and lacks creativity while doing it (He is not Cam). And he just has never shown me he is clutch during his college career. People make excuses it was cause Baylor sucked and they will say the same about the Redskins line this year too. But I just think expectations need to get realistic. Even my own.

He has been tremendously out played by Russell Wilson (this is no shock to me but it may be to many others) and those are just the facts

CP retires as a Redskin tommorow pimp.giffrown.gif

Js I had 5 of those 6 in my prediction page 1 but I'd def. agree with Robinson over Terence Austin now. I'm surprised at how big Aldrick got in a year...he looked frail as hell last preseason.

Imma be scared as hell if a division rival gets Bank though. laugh.gif

Not liking Roy Helu already getting injured...none of the others are gamechangers like he is.

Hope Shanny lets RGIII open up and make big plays vs the Colts.

I still wonder how things would've been if we kept Champ and that draft pick that landed them Brandon Marshall...

Would have been the same and we probably would have drafted a punter w/ the Marshall pick. Remember, Vinny was calling the shots.

Trade, IMO, was a push.

laugh.gif you're probably right, I was just never a big fan of it because I had just gotten a Champ Bailey jersey for my 10th birthday only to see him get traded.

trade was a push how?

Denver got Champ (who is still playing a pretty decent level) & and a 2ND round pick.

I don't see how it was a wash at all.
That's what I'm saying, champ had his best years in denver and Is still playing like the hof talent he is and got a pro bowl wr with the draft pick

Trade was a push, meaning if we kept Champ there wouldnt have been any change inthe Skins W/L record. You can probably say the same for the Broncos, save for the year they went 13-3.

I was impressed by the effort today.

Alfred Morris - what more can you say about the kid? Love his running style and he falls forward. Easily the most physical of all the RBs on the roster. I wouldn't be surprised if he's our starting RB in week 1. I think Royster might be the odd man out.

RGIII - a lot better today in comparison to last week. Some dink and dunks, but he was moving the ball. Still needs to be a tad bit more decisive when throwing the ball. Holding on for a split second too long. I expect that to be corrected going foward.

Tanard Jackson - dude was laying the wood. However, the pass defense was meh...

Andrew Luck is going to be an absolute STUD. People were really questioning his arm strength?

Short week, so let's rest dudes up and get ready for the Saints in 15 days.

Billy Cundiff is the new kicker?!

I'd rather have Rackers SMH. Gave up on Gano too soon IMO.

Seems like a wash to me. Gano was wildly inconsistent and Cundiff is 2 years removed from a PB season. I guess Cundiff was dealing w/ a groin injury all last year, so hopefully he can regain some of that 2010 magic.

Between the blocked kicks and KOs out of bounds, I think Shanny and Co. were at wits end w/ Gano. I'm surprised Rackers didn't make more of a push.

Next up, Brandon Banks.

More like the guy that showed me what the slowest TE in the league looks like. I just told my boy thst the writing was on the wall for him when I saw his jersey on the clearance rack in the team store on Saturday. So that's Portis and Cooley, two clowns gone from DC within a week, sounds good to me.

It took Vernon like 5 years to finally be better than CC.

Sad day but we are just finally getting better and just so few spots to go around. The last era officially ends when Santana is gone.

Sad to hear his Press Conference right now...he's torn up.

LOL...I know, right?

I think Santana is a lock (at least for this year). Dude is smart. Went out this offseason and dropped 15 pounds because he knew that he was on the fence going into TC. He's looked good so far in the preseason.

Going back to Cooley for a second....he'd fit in real well in Denver.

Santana always finds ways to stay relevant and productive. He has had his moments as a Skin, his time is coming soon too though.

I think this is his last year w/ the team. He'll be 34 when the season starts next year. I'd have to think that they will be grooming a player like Alderick Robinson to eventually take over Santana's spot in the slot.
