Redskins have one of the worst jerseys to buy, so much turnover on this team the last 10 years or so. mean.gif

It's easy to fall for that when you think of his speed and think of his electrifying returns but if you take a look at his stats and factor in how the new KO return rule, you'd realize that a precious spot would be of better use on someone who is fast and can step in at a moments notice should we need someone who can actually play WR. Robinson is like the perfect guy to takeover Banks role and can do much more. Briscoe is too good and young to let some one trick pony take his spot. That's how the NFL works. When your team gets better, tough decisions are bound to happen.

Yup, these are GOOD problems to have and rare ones the Redskins haven't been faced with for years. We used to spend our Summers making commercials for Eastern Motors. mean.gif

This coming from the guy that wrote a thread of how great of a blocking back Portis is.......LOL. Classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. AsFar as Cooley is concerned I don't think any team is that desperate iim. His Cooley's best bet is to start doing some Eastern Motors commercials to stay active.

And? Dispute my claim.

I've known for months that we were gonna cut Cooley and was totally in favor of it, heard about it today and still felt the same way. Got home just now and watched his press conference and it made me so damn sad about it. laugh.gif Divorcing myself from it emotionally I think it's the right move, but man I felt badly for him watching that. He really loved playing in this area and loved being a Redskins even though we've been buns for most of his career. I definitely appreciate/respect a dude like that.

There's really nothing of substance to dispute champ. You were laughed out of your own thread, it was shut down before it even began laugh.gif. That's like me saying it's hot outside, even if that were the case.................so what. Yeah Portis might have been the best blocking back in the league but again...............so what. He never was the best running back in the league, never was a Top 3 running back, he's never going to be in the HOF so with all that combined once again.............so what. As far as I'm concerned it's GREAT news that Portis and Cooley are no longer Redskins, we don't need a bunch of dudes dressing up in disguises representing the area. Good riddance.

Crosstown beef!

Haha, this man thanked Cooley and said he was buns for most of his career in the same post. Quite true though....he had his moments.

Laughed outta my own thread? Is that supposed to hurt, Champ? Shoes made a joke, you saddled up on him like secretariat and rode it out. He's widely regarded as one of the best blocking RBs to ever play the game. Again, dispute my claim. You can't. I don't give a **** what you think about it.

No one ever said he was a top-3 RB...No one ever said he was going to the HOF. So, I'm not sure what you're getting at. Actually, I do. In your pea-brain, things make sense. So much so, that you feel the need to post like people would actually agree with you - when it's further from the truth. Your opinion means jack **** to me. Nothing. Nada.

Portis had an amazing 7 year run and will go down as one of the best RBs in franchise history. NOTHING can be disputed on that.

As far as I'M concerned, no one cares what you're concerned about. Like Cooley/Portis being in costume had any bearing on what people thought about DC. LMAOOOO...c'mon now. It's a new chapter for the Skins - one which hopefully trends upwards. Cooley/Portis are gone, but their overall contributions won't be forgotten by the fans here. Two of the best players in the history of the franchise.

*edit* Totally forgot about Portis' All-Pro selection in 2008. He was one of the better RBs in the league for a stretch.

As mad as you are or might be with your response you said alot of nothing. Which is the equivalent to that of the careers of both Portis and Cooley. Portis being one of the so called "best blocking running backs ever in the leauge" and Cooley being one of if not the slowest tight end's to ever play the game. As far as I'm concerned both of these individuals are right where they need to be as far as the NFL is concerned and that's out of a job. At the end of the day DoubleJ's, you my friend are cheerleading for 2 average players that played for an average franchise. Now if you want to take that to the grave with you, be my guest.

So excited to see the backups fight for life on the roster. I hope they light up the scoreboard.

This Ratliff guy never gets rid of the ball. laugh.gif Great blitzing...or the QB makes it too easy lol.

Oh Billy...that's the guy I know. Shoulda kept Gano.

Finally Brandon makes a big play. Too little too late?

Damn...wonder how Shanahan will split carries with 4 RBs...Good problem too have.

Helu/Crawford REALLY helped themselves tonight.

I think Kevin Barnes was traded because of Crawford's emergence.

RBs:

Morris, Helu, Hightower

WRs:

Garcon, Moss, Hankerson, Morgan, Robinson, Briscoe or Banks
post #83 of 656
Deuce and JJ just agree to disagree guys and keep it moving. Yall are going to be going at it for 17 weeks this season otherwise.....there will be plenty to debate during the year no need to yap about Portis and Cooley.

Ok...banks earned his spot.

Out of all the WRs, who goes? Not for nothing, Josh Morgan has been the most unimpressive....he's been battling injuries, so that's a huge factor.
Brandon Banks is not making this WR decision any easier on Shanahan.

Watch...the Skins will cut him, some other team will sign him and he will burn the Skins this year by returning a punt for a TD on them. mean.gif
post #86 of 656
I'm thinking if you keep BB, then no Aldrick. I really want/hope Briscoe makes it though. I have this feeling he can be huge for this team in the future.

I disagree with you about Morgan. He has been pretty realible to make catches and blocks well.
I agree, Briscoe is a big target and looks good over the middle. He was a solid addition.

With you on the fact if they keep BB, Aldrick is toast.

In regards to Morgan, he's a lock to make the team....but I think some of the nagging injuries he's been battling have hindered his play a bit.

As far as being unimpressive - Leonard Hankerson. Dude had the #2 spot primed for the taking and didn't really do much to establish himself from the rest of the pack.

No doubt. I'll give DoubleJ's a pass...............................for now. Besides, I see he edited his post even after I saw it so in the end he did the right thing. We're all family here happy.gif.

That what's good, yall both seem like good people.

What's everyone's thoughts on Cundiff? He seemed exactly as advertised last night. 3/4.....75% inaccurate from longer distances. Gano will probably sign else where and start beasting as well.

For once the Redskins actually have tough decisions with the roster spots, before they seemed to have help wanted ads on Craigslist or something.
