One of the Most Disturbing Movies I've Seen ...

There isn't any gore so it's not so much disturbing as it is INCREDIBLY INCREDIBLY depressing.

Info on this movie, What happend to the lil girl? I bet the new guy killed her to get the father to leave the woman alone.

Will watch ONLY the last 20 minutes, lol

Gummo really weirded me out when I saw the whole thing...

Could never get past the imagery in that movie...

The bathtub scene...
:x

It's directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, East Bound and Down, Your Highness, The Sitter) but is NOTHING like any of those projects.

It's truthfully a very good film but I can't recommend it solely because of how sad and empty it made me feel.

Is it online?

Cliff notes on the end? I'm one of those that wanna know before i watch
No offense but I can't stand people who have this mindset.

What's the point of intentionally spoiling something for yourself and THEN going out and watching it? It completely ruins the experience and undermines the work. Can't handle twist endings? Can't wait 1 hour and 30 minutes to see what the fuss was about? Ol' "I go straight to wikipedia and read the plot before watching the movie" lookin' boy...

I bet you're one of those dudes who like calling out scenes too. "OH, this is the part when..."

/rant
Martyrs was dope as **** but a VERY tough watch during the 2nd half of the film. I've seen my fair share of disturbing **** in movies and I'll say I felt uncomfortable watching certain scenes. A good 15-20 minute stretch where I was just cringing. I loved the ending though.

The French have the torture horror genre on LOCK. Martyrs, Haute Tension, Frontier(s), etc.

Check out À L'intérieur if you liked Martyrs.

I do this for certain movies. and no i dont say oh this is the part....curiosity gets the best of me when you say " the last 20 mins is crazy"

Yeah, I'm good off that...
700

Damn. :smh: But yeah A Serbian Film is def Top 5 Top 10 one of the most disturbing things I've seen. I've watched too many beheading videos and all that dumb stuff to really be like affected but some stuff still does shock me. Is the movie worth the watch or just for the ending? I never heard of the Rosario Dawson movie either...might have to check it out.

@Blade -- Gummo is classically disturbing, i watched that a lot in the late 90s. Most of Harmony Korine's films are like that, the fact that he can make you feel what you feel when you experience his films is a great mark of a true artist. Check out some of his other stuff: Julien Donkey-Boy, Trash Humpers, ... There are plenty more shorts you can check out on youtube

Curiosity would have me making it a priority to watch whatever it is getting hyped...

I'm not saying I've never intentionally read a spoiler. It's just that in the rare times I've done so, it's for something I 100% had no intention of giving my complete attention to for 2 hours and couldn't give one **** about. However, if I KNEW I'd watch it or there's even a remote possibility I might be compelled to view on a lazy Sunday...I steer clear of anything that gives me insight to the film/show or reveals plot info. To quote the old phrase, "Less is more".

I know I sound like a douche but it's a big pet peeve of mine. I just don't understand the logic behind it.

Might check it out but honestly with the **** ive seen, i doubt it will have a huge impact on me. If you really want to see something ****** up watch Melancholie der Engel aka The Angel's Melancholy...but don't say i didn't warn you. Also like mentioned before, A Serbian Film, Salo, Martyr's, all great recommendations. If you're more into the adventurous visuals that will leave you like what the **** am i watching check out some of Alejandro Jodorowsky films.

I thought I Saw The Devil was pretty disturbing...
ehh, it started out that way, but it jsut got laughable throughout the movie.

Anybody hear see Suicide Club. Its just creepy. Not because of the gore, but because of the whole, do you know yourself stuff etc. Then I watched the sequel Noriko's Dinner Table and it started good but just got really annoying.

this movie was straight up disney compared to a movie like Martyrs..

Eden Lake is a pretty messed up movie too.

Welp i just finish watching megan is missing

ending wasnt that bad but i did get creeped out with the girl that was in the barrel,,,her eyes :x

and the rape was a lil od for me, looked way to real :smh:

Read the summary and synopsis to Megan is Missing, I already know I'm most likely not going to watch it.

I hate those types of movies.
