helmet = dope
rest = we did enough with the helmet the rest can be whatever

If batman can wear as bat type mask and pull it off why can't wolverine? I fell like they just dont wanna hide Hugh's face

How many movies did jackman appeared as wolverine? Yet we have not really seen him in an actual wolverine costume.... boggles my mind that Capt, IM,etc... have new suits/costumes every movie...

If they put Jackman in a wolverine costume and have him just creates mayhem for 70% of the movie

I think the movie will do good.

DEAD SERIOUS.

That Quicksilver commercial just came on TV.

Hardee's/Carl's Jr. is straight up stealing money from FOX with this ad campaign.

I feel like FOX literally handed some laughing marketing exec at Hardee's a huge bag of money and was just like "try to mention x men in there somewhere".

Literally it seemed like just a very boring commercial of a dude eating a sandwhich, and at the end they say super quickly "and also go watch x men."

bruh its turrible...dude looks like his haloween costume didnt turn out right

Funny how both Quicksilver dudes were together in Kick A**.

One's career is gonna thrive, while the other is going to die off.

Both their careers are doing well. Being in this xmen movie is going to kill evan peters' career when he gets to do American Horror Story every year.

Not one bit . I think at this point everyone knows who the franchise Wolverine is. Just put him in the damn costume for once if you are gonna make this a Wolverine and friends affair every...single...time.

Just put Wolverine in a mask and more than half of the naysayers will love the film.

I can't front, I would've enjoyed his last movie alot more if the final scene, from the ninjas on, had him in a costume.

What's more surprising, the terribleness of this commercial?

Or the fact that Hugh Jackman didn't appear in it?
easily this.. easily.. would anyone be surprised if anything associated with this movie is terrible?

i'm just impressed that they want to even try to take on marvel.. this has to coincide with TWS

Apparently, some of the promotional materials a few of you have been posting recently have qualified as "image leaks" in the opinion of Twentieth Century Fox and their legal representatives.  These images have been removed.

This is at least the fifth takedown request we've received from Fox since December.  It is, of course, our goal to respect the intellectual property rights of others - even if our users don't.

Unfortunately, it's now reached the point where these requests are becoming ludicrous and counterproductive.  In February, we received two requests from "Fox Group Legal" to delete posts containing "purported plot details" concerning an upcoming Fantastic Four film.  While I can't repeat the plot details, for fear of a sixth takedown notice, they were about as "revealing" as the two line descriptions you'd find on Netflix or a DVR guide.  Nobody at Fox Group Legal could explain how this in any way violated "fair use," or even bothered to specify which "plot details" were at issue.  Their request could have been interpreted so as to include sixty-year-old character names and descriptions.  (e.g. "Spoiler alert: Superman's weakness is kryptonite."  "Batman's parents die."  "Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider.")

I've had enough.  Here we have a film that's already being publicized by the studio, and they're asking us to take down, among other things, movie posters  presumably created by the studio to promote a film due out in a few weeks.  What, exactly, is the value in harassing us to prevent people from distributing glorified advertisements for your product?

At this point, I would almost prefer to shut down this and similar threads rather than expose our community to any more nuisance legal threats from 20th Century Fox.

Any thoughts?

i believe it would be a let down to shut down the threads
especially if its as ludicrous as u say
ESPECIALLY if we are abiding by the rules of conduct

Users aren't permitted to upload copyrighted images.  Whenever you use the uploader, you have to check a box specifically indicating that you're NOT going to violate somebody's copyrights.

Clearly there is an issue here, as users are posting images indiscriminately and leaked images in particular are going to result in our staff receiving a legal threat.

Now, if this were a rare occurrence, we could deal with the cleanup.  Twentieth Century Fox, however, has become so needlessly and gratuitously litigious of late that it's just not worth it.  Why reward them with free publicity when they're constantly threatening us - and when these threats are, at times, utterly ridiculous?

It's like if the NBA started harassing us every time a user posted a screenshot of an NBA game without the express written consent of the league.  It's bad for their business and ours.

honestly when ever i have a image i wanna show i just google image and copy past the url
should I not do that anymore???

and truthfully
i see more "promotion" for the movie in this thread for that movie than i see ANYWHERE else
dont think ive even seen a trailer on tv for it

If everyone was in here hyping the movie they wouldn't have a problem. Didn't this same thing happen in the TMNT thread last year?

External links aren't as big of an issue for us, because Fox can go after the source, but if we're being threatened when users discuss potential plot points, what's the use of allowing a discussion about the film prior to its release?

Movies from studios OTHER than Twentieth Century Fox aren't a problem.  We've had no issues with anyone else.  Requests, when issued, are generally very reasonable and justifiable.  Fox is not behaving that way, however, so I can't say with any certainty that they would allow the posting of external links to occur without protest.

Big companies sometimes use the threat of litigation to bully smaller websites into removing anything and everything they don't like - whether they have the legal right to do so or not.  They know that nobody wants to pay the costs associated with mounting a legal defense - even if they're in the right - and figure that they'll comply with any request, however specious, to avoid potential expense.

That's my point.  I don't see why we should continue to reward a company with free publicity when they're constantly threatening us for doing so.  If they don't WANT NikeTalk users to generate buzz for their films, that's fine by me.

I'm just tired of being harassed by their counsel for something as silly as the posting of a movie poster or "plot points."  A newspaper could give away the twist for a film like "The Crying Game" or "The Sixth Sense" and this would be covered under "fair use."  Yet when someone posts the origin story for the "fantastic four" on our forums, we get a bunch of menacing legal "demands" from Fox.  It's ridiculous.
Are they going to threaten every site where users defecate on their decisions in terms of superhero movies? They'd have to shut down 85+ % of the internet

I'm admittedly unfamiliar with this film and its predecessors.  It's possible that they're interested in removing some of these images precisely because fans are making fun of them or they believe that it's so bad that any "leaks" could only hurt its potential earnings.  Sometimes studios refuse to screen their movies for critics for the same reason.

If you guys suspect that's the case here, I'm content to leave this thread open - just understand that we can't allow the posting of any copyrighted videos or images associated with this or other 20th Century Fox properties.

Unless it's something they've released themselves for publicity, do NOT upload it to our servers.  I don't want to deal with it.

That's absolutely ridiculous

This sounds a lot like how studios don't screen bad movies for the press to review.

Sounds to me they know the product is bad. If they were confident in it, I don't think they'd worry. So kudos to Fox - they're just adding to the negativity on here.

I'm guessing those images are the posters that feature Wolverine heavily and with "HUGH JACKMAN" as the lone billed star. What a joke. It would do them more good to fire their bonehead marketing department than threaten a forum called NikeTalk.

Meth, how is Fox even aware of us, or this thread specifically?

And when you say 5th time, you mean just in this thread, or Fox has complained about 5 different threads relating to their movies?
