I agree. I thought Marsden did a great job as Cyclops. Hate how they did the character in the trilogy. Sucks he wasn't in First Class too. One of the most important X-Men

His own fault really.
I actually liked how Cyke died in the movie given Jean in dark phoenix mode has never killed him in the comics.

So did they intend for him to have a bigger role in X3? If the original plans were to kill his character off 30 mins into the movie from the jump I don't blame him for simpin.

I'm hoping Cyclops and Jean are mentioned near or at the end of the film. I still wonder how Wolverine has metal claws in the future when he had bone at the end of his last film.

I'm sure they'll explain it, when he goes back in time, not really sure if he just goes back in mind and goes to his past body but I believe he has bone claws there since Origins hasn't happened yet.

Yah the whole universe is messed up because they didn't think ahead and plan how these films would tie together, they made em as a singular film but I think they are trying to line it up to try and clean it all up and that is why I believe this film will reset this universe.
If you just forget the plethora of inconsistencies and mistakes, you can consider the timeline as such:
First Class
DoFP (past)
Wolverine: Origins
X1
X2
X3
The Wolverine
DoFP (future)
Sadly, this the X-Universe Fox has given us since they kind of used the franchise a cash cow w/o a consistent person in charge to look over all the films being made, IIRC Feige was made as a co-producer for the first XMen film because he was the producers intern and he knew so much about the XMen world that he was hired or promoted and that's how he got started. They really missed the boat there by not hiring him and having him godfather the franchise by thats hindsight.
Now I think they have Singer on the helm and he is already talking about a sequel with Apocalypse and another film after that. He probably has a hand in the XForce film too, not sure about F4 though.

Nah I'm pretty sure he let them know he was gone when Singer said he wasn't coming back to direct X3 so that's probably a year if not more in advance. Just seems kinda stupid. They had a clean slate when they made First Class. There would be no need to fix things and have the old trilogy match up. If the plot ends up not making sense and being dumb then they look like idiots again.

I thought Singer was coming back to direct X3 after SR but Fox didn't want to wait til after he finished SR?

That's the thing, the First Class was suppose to be a reboot and also begin a trilogy but with Vaughn gone and Singer back, I guess he wanted to combine the world he created before and straighten it all out and kind of start from scratch.
He even took a few shot at Ratner and what he did with the franchise iirc, dude sarcastically thanked him for not killing everyone and not going overboard so there is some anger there on what he did to his X-world. Also got to keep in mind that even though plenty here hates X1 ans X2, it was still well received and really looks even better in comparison to X3.

Should've just kept moving forward instead of going backwards again. First Class had its flaws but was pretty good. I would've liked for them to have used the actual original Xmen team but that would make too much sense.
