i was always a big Joe Madureira fan when i was heavy into comics. I liked the manga influence, plus he illustrated in my favorite story arc of all time (Age of Apocalypse). Too bad his books came out 6 months at a time :lol: :lol:

I like Joe Mad as well. AoA series is one of my favorite saga's. And the chromium covers on Alpha and the Omega issues always holds a place in my heart even though people say it was cheap....along with gatefold covers.

Pat Lee's art got me hooked when Dreamwave and IDW started pushing g.i. joe and transformers re-vamps:

Covers tend to be more detailed and better drawn or experimental and conceptual or just eye-catching and different, so they take longer or just need a fresh hand other than the regular artist.

Think like this...most of the time, a movie doesn't just grab a screenshot from the film and call it the poster...not the good ones, not the ones that need to stand out on the shelf.
 
This thread makes me want to start collecting trading cards again... do they still even make them??? so hard to find a comic book spot anymore, i know of like 3 but all are over 30 mins from my home.
