what's the point in you coming in here just to post this nonsense?

Why did you find the need? Are you that miserable or that immature?

Started running with my dog. He loves it.
Don't know how he's faster than me and can run 4 full miles without seeming to care as he only weights 25lbs.

Every time I hear of someone losing their pet I think of this..

DOGS DON'T HAVE SOULS, DO THEY?
I remember bringing you home. You were so small and cuddly with your tiny paws and soft fur. You bounced around the room with eyes flashing and ears flopping. Once in a while, you'd let out a little yelp just to let me know this was your territory.
Making a mess of the house and chewing on everything in sight became a passion and when I scolded you, you just put your head down and looked up at me with those innocent eyes as if to say: "I'm sorry, but I'll do it again as soon as you're not watching."
As you got older, you protected me by looking out the window and barking at everyone who walked by. When I had a tough day at work, you would be waiting for me with your tail wagging just to say, "Welcome home. I missed you." You never had a bad day and I could always count on you to be there for me.
When I sat down to read the paper and watch TV, you would hop on my lap looking for attention. You never asked for anything more than to have me pat your head so you could go to sleep with your head over my leg.
As you got older, you moved around more slowly. Then one day, old age finally took its toll, and you couldn't stand on those wobbly legs anymore. I knelt down and patted you lying there, trying to make you young again. You just looked up at me as if to say you were old and tired and that after all these years of not asking for anything, you had to ask me to do one last favor.
With tears in my eyes, I drove you one last time to the vet. One last time you were lying next to me. For some strange reason you were able to stand up in the animal hospital - perhaps it was your sense of pride.
As the vet led you away, you stopped for an instant, turned your head and looked at me as if to say: "Thank you for taking care of me."
I thought, "No - thank YOU for taking care of ME."

:frown: :frown: :frown:

Growing up I lost 3 dogs.

I was 6 when my first dog passed he was my black lab named rocko, I was visiting my family in the Philippines, it was my mom, my sister and me. My dad stayed back because he had to work. When I got back he was gone. ran away. :frown:

We had a poodle named Billy and she died when I was about 12 of pure old age she was 11 (my parents hardly brought our dogs to the vet so I don't know exactly the cause). :frown:

When I was on deployment 3 years ago I got word from back home my female black lab passed of old age also she was 16 years old. I grow up with her man. :frown:

Time goes on and most of the time I forget about them but after that read had me really think back on all the times that I spent with my dogs and the unconditional love shared. I miss them :frown:

losing a dog is like losing a family member, for real

R.I.P. Daisy aka The Duke

Hands down the best dog I could have ever asked for. Never trained her but she just knew to take her dumps in a certain section of the yard. There wasn't one morning I didn't wake up to a dead possum/rat. She knew who to trip on and bite too, and always left close family alone. She had a seizure that left her partially blind and her body was shutting down. RIP Mamas

Coming up on a year now damn i miss her

On a brighter note, just picked up a little brother for my current frenchie. His name is Tank

RIP to your pup @Picasso Swerve  , I remember your pups story a while back in this thread, truly heartbreaking. Stay strong my dude.

I got to see my pups this weekend, spent the weekend out in Missouri with the fiance before heading back to Oregon for school/work. We went to the lake and had a good ol time.

Berk learned how to stand up in the lake, it was the funniest/ most random thing ever. He was walking around like he was human

Is there such a thing as a dog not knowing how to swim? Though about bringing my dog to the lake but afraid of the possibility

whenever we swim he'd run around it and when we'd get close to the edge he'd try to grab us to pull us out

we have steps and he only puts his two front paws in, that's it. we bought this life vest type thing and took him in once while I was holding him. dude had this face like "nuh uh hell naw let me out *****."
