Sneaker Pimps is an epic fail of a convention. I did score a few steals there tho. Got the uni 5s for 180. playoff 8s for 220 and de la soul low 220 all ds.

SNEAKER ATTACK
Coming to the LA Convention Center August 25th and the 26th, 2012. Starts at 10:00 AM and finishes at 10:00 PM. Dub Magazine is going to be having their annual car show right across from us as well! Y'all really aren't missing much.
I tried to go to a couple thinking maybe I just hit a few bunk ones but nah.. They're all the same. The unity just isn't alive in LA like you see in other states when they have conventions. I made a promise to myself that I would never go to another one... Unless it's some sort of NT Summit or something.

I miss the days of Bar330 and shows like Sole Searching... buying tables for $100 with buddies and making connects...
Stopped going back in January 07, that was the last time I attended. I've wanted to go again for quite some time, seeing that flyer I think i'd attend... whatever happened to $5 admission though?

honestly...just having a good amount of good people. a lot of these conventions have a bunch of hypebeasts trying to pawn off their GR stuff for an arm and a leg. I get that the sneaker culture has changed but its like everyone is all high and mighty. Like Cinco said, it was about meeting people and building connects and just sharing a common love of sneakers. It wasn't about making money. I remember I ran a buy one get one free deal at one of the Sole Searching events (I was pretty crazy looking back on it) but it was great.
A lot of times you get too many sellers and not enough buyers but not sure how to really change that. I guess it just goes to show that the sneaker culture isn't what it used to be and I really don't think these kind of events can make a big enough hit like they used to...especially out in SoCal.
