Call So I have a few pairs of kicks i dont want but i rather trade them then sell them. How do you trade shoes online and protect yourself from getting screwed over??

check references. discuss trade in depth before doing it.

one time a few years back i did a multiple shoe swap with someone on nt, and this took place internationally. i made a risk assessment, and it got a bit tense cuz of the time it took, but it all worked out in the end.

stateside it should be easy as piss in comparison. just be fair but smart.

I've always been curious as to a way to trade over the internet without the worry of anyone being scammed. i guess in the most part it comes down to trust and people vouching for that person

When it comes to trades, I WILL NEVER ship first. I know I'm legit. Once I get mine, I ship off theres and everyone's happy. You might miss out on some good trades because the other party won't ship first but hey, better safe then sorry.

that fact that you know you're legit is no basis for taking this position. the other person may not have that knowledge, so you can't take it for granted that you are more trustworthy than them. just do your homework about your trader, it's the safest and most constructive way.

go in with a "i'm better than you" attitude, you reduce the chance of agreement and increase the chance of being scammed. why would anyone care about someone acting like that to them.

The one time I've done a trade I took care of shipping the other person's shoes to me as well. Sent my shoes out with a packing slip for him to FedEx his pair back to me. Worked like a charm. I don't sell my shoes often though, so I don't know if I'm ever going to do anything like that again.

I am not a fan of trading, but the couple of times I have done it, I made make sure the other person sent first. I think who ever has the most credibility (eBay feedback, references, etc.) should have the choice in deciding who ships first.

I did a trade a few months back. I gave the guy my information, and talked to him for about 10 minutes. Once I told him everything he became comfortable with the fact that I wasn't trying to scam him out of his shoes. He sent his first. I sent mine back with a few extras. My suggestion is to talk to the person and trust your gut. Also, I wouldn't trade anything that I couldn't do without losing. Sometimes that gut can be wrong.

The easiest way for me was sending one shoe at a time. Yes it can be a hassle but at least it's legit

This is actually genious...each person gets one shoe. And once it's been confirmed that each person has 1 shoe then both parties and go ahead and send the other. It's not like nobody is going to scam you out of one shoe

I've never traded, but this is not foolproof.

Say, I'm a scammer. I do this method above. We swap 1 shoe each. And then I ask you to ship the 2nd shoe. Now I have a pair and you have 1 of the other shoe and I have the other of the other shoe. I stiff you. Now, I repeat this with another person. Send my 1 other shoe (not having a pair in the first place - using the same pics from the first trade). We send each other 1 shoe each. Then, I ask you for the other shoe. I stiff you. Basically, you are able to execute 2 trades for every one pair you actually give up.

The paypal method is better. Set a price double market value. Buy one another's kicks using credit cards. If I don't send your pair, you get the payment reversed and stop payment via your credit card. Plus, I paid twice what the pair I received is worth and, meaning I'm the one who gets screwed.

Thats why you should always get tagged dated pictures and both of you send the last pair on the same day. If he cant provide a tracking # that day then just put a F stop on your package and have it returned back to you.

Come on, pictures are so easy to modify. You think a scammer isn't going to have all of his scamming tools at the ready? Photoshop included.

Yeah it might be easy to photoshop numbers..... anything is possible, everytime you do something like this is a risk. Im just giving tips on how to limit the risk. Send dude on random locations around his house: ask him take pictures on the car, outside, in the bathroom, & etc lol. I mean it should only take a few minutes to send pictures, photoshop pictures to get them looking perfect will take some time..... Pick what side of the shoe you want him to send. Maybe the scammer only has the left and you ask for right to be sent first.

The goal is limit your risk whether he is a scammer or not .

Do not trade without a middle man. My company Sole Individual now offers the service of being the middle man between your trade, if you're looking for more information feel free to PM me.

I did a trade a couple months ago for the DMP 6/11 pack and got scammed for my Pre-Heats so I wanted to put a option in place so no one else would get scammed.

Don't believe in trading. You're shipping off a pair of shoes without some kind of receipt or proof. It doesn't matter how much credibility they have, anyone can "turn"

If you want something, sell off the shoe you're trying to get rid of, then purchase the item you want. I've always followed this method.

Deandre Jackson aka naptown_sneakerhead is a fraud. We both agree on a trade and we suppose to send our kicks at the same time. He sent me a bogus tracking number, I thought I would be getting my kicks on the 6th of march but didn't receive it. I keep texting and he act like it was the wrong number, when I told him I kept past messages he had the nerve to tell me that he is gonna charge me 120 to get my shoes back. I'm so pissed, watch out for this guy. Remember his name don't do any trades, sale, or buy from him.

I've never traded online before so I'm wondering what to do. I'm trading Gammas and $100 for DB 4s. The other person is telling me to ship first. I'm a reputable seller and buyer on ebay so what do y'all suggest I do?

sole exchange

both parties send their pair to them and they inspect both pairs and then ship to the other party. they are a middleman site. i heard if one party ships a fake pair then they will keep them. just to deter ppl from sending fake shoes. they are a middleman site so no one gets screwed
