Official New York Giants 2013 Off-Season thread: (2014 schedule on page 87)

I've been lucky enough to miss most of the Giants games this season  but caught last night's game and that last pick :smh: Like it's been said, it shouldn't have happened.

i think that nicks dropped pass on the slant was worse than the myers drop

It might have been an easier pass to catch but it didn't change the end of the game.

Myers dropped a pass that would have put us 10-15 yards away from a W. It might have been a little high but no doubt, it should have been caught.

Myers stopped his route short and his fat un-athletic *** tried to jump high for the ball, I saw the INT coming right as the ball was about to land in his hands.

Guy cant even block either, gets thrown to the ground.

Brandon Myers is terrible blocking TE and mediocre at best receiving. Glad we didn't re-sign him

and if Eli was checking down all night you guys would complain that they weren't opening the playbook up.

it wasn't a bad play call at all.  intermediate length (15-20 yards) passing play and the receiver was WIDE OPEN.  Myers was the only dude that deep so it's not like it was a 4 deep route.  Eli just let the ball sail a tinyyy bit and Myers is a garbage enough receiver that he can't make any play that involves leaving his feet (or staying on the ground for that matter.)  Jacobs was running for 3 yards, 1 yard, 11 yards in that order over and over again and the receivers dropped tons of balls underneath.  So it's not like there was any guarantee they'd move the ball the whole way.  You have an opportunity you take it.

It was a good play call, so-so execution, and the worst out of 4 possible outcomes.  It sucks, but that one wasn't on Gilbride.
This is so spot on. That was hardly an aggressive play call. The play call was fine. The execution was not. How the OC is being blamed for a QB missing a wide open target blows my mind. I'm neither an Eli fan or hater, but why is it so hard to admit he missed the throw?

And when you're down a TD and 35 yards from the end zone, you don't worry about killing clock. Down a FG, sure. Not when you're down a TD though.

It's not even about that, the issue is that Myers stopped his route early to make an athletic play when he is...not athletic. The throw could have been better sure, but at what point will the receivers make a big play? If it hits your hands you should catch the ball.

When you have guys like Randle fumbling the ball at the 1 yard line, Myers falling down on his own with a clear TD path, Nicks missing throws deep when he has his man beat and dropping slants, receivers not coming back to the ball HARD and getting passes deflected, there has to come a point in time when these receivers HELP Eli out there, especially with absolutely NO running game and lack of protection.

Cutler had 3-4 high balls and what happened, Bennett and Marshall snagged them at their highest point.

Eli is working with very little at this point and it's comical how people want to jump on him like he is the only reason for the losing. The INTs don't help but the losing is a team issue and usually the WRs are not in their proper spots. Eli has shown what he can do when he has the talent to win around him.

We are undoubtedly a talented team but there seems to be a lack of effort which is very alarming. Agreed Myers should make the catch although not a great throw.

I've only seen highlights since I wasn't able to watch Thursday due to getting blacked at a friends wedding. followed game cast as much as possible then highlights at the hotel late night.

Bright side is we will go undefeated next 2 Sundays with the Monday night game vs Minny. Thoughts and prayers with Adrian Peterson in this surreal time for him BTW.

We're working out Peyton Hillis :x

This is why I wanted us to sign Jacobs and McGhee a few weeks ago.

Not like McGhee is doing anything spectacular anyways, and it's about the run blocking anyways. John Conner looked good out there last week lead blocking for Jacobs, big difference when you have a guy who actually likes contact.

We are just filling in plugs in a lost season, losing our two starting RBs is going to hurt no matter what you do. I could live with the losing if the effort is there consistently, but the drops and lack of "smart" football is what irks me the most. At least we will see who will belong here next year and who doesn't.

When one thing finally looks good the next week, something else looks bad.

Hillis signing official. He will serve as jacobs primary backup. This has to be the slowest rb tandem ive ever seen. Cox cant be any worse than scott...

Now we got Rueben Randle and David Wilson beefing on twitter. Wilson telling him to catch and Randle telling him to not fumble. :smh:

One thing I've noticed, they haven't been treated equally. Randle has made a lot of mistakes but gets a pass because they're hoping he can be Nicks' replacement.

Ya'll think the Giants will suck for the foreseeable future? There's just so much to improve.

I've seriously been trying to avoid this thread for the longnest lol. I've never experience having so much disgust for a favorite team of mine until this season came into play. I been down with them for 10yrs+, it's painful to see the squad like this

I don't think so. Linemen to give Eli time and gave our RBs somewhere to run. I don't hate our defense. It's not great but it's not as bad as people think. They're on the field A LOT this year.

Wish we signed Charles Woodson for the max vet. Leadership, experience and can still ball

Bruh, that whole thing was just jokes, was not serious at all. They were talking about fantasy football at that

I read somewhere that 7 of Eli's interceptions were balls thrown to Randle's direction, they need to just figure things out and get on the same page.

Yeah, it was on NFL TV and they showed half of the convo and made it look serious. Then I looked it up on Bleacher Report at all the tweets and it seemed like they were playing.

I read that it was six INTs thrown to Randle. They're trying to replace Nicks with this kid. He's not bad but no

I don't like these tweets when team is 0-6 and dudes are joking. Maybe I'm being uptight but take your craft seriously. No room for that if you're winless. Just shut up and try hard.

I saw it as it was happening, to be honest it was pretty funny, had no idea it was even discussed on TV.

Those are things players probably say to each other, players get on each other and talk shhh all the time.

I can understand how it can rub people the wrong way considering the team has 0 wins (esp after Rolle said some players are taking the losing harder than others), but I didn't make much of it then nor do I now.

I agree. If we were 4-2 or 5-1, I'm fine with this. We have the worst record in the league right now. No reason to be playing around on twitter about each other's turnovers. That **** isn't funny or a joke because Randle is responsible for 4-6 INTs and Wilson has a few fumbles and is out possibly for the season

They're young. Immature. I didnt agree with Wilson's double backflip in the eagle game either. 0-4 at the time. Just hand the ball to the ref and proceed.
