Dan Auerbach produces great albums. Dr. John - Locked Down is a great album that I listen to a lot. Blakroc was cool too

Lykke Li - No Rest For The Wicked

The Stooges - 1970

I didn't know Stooges drummer Scott Asheton, passed away... Damn. RIP. This band was so waaay ahead of their time.

^ The Stooges were one of the first bands I listened to when I started checking out other genres of music. Just loud, aggressive music. If your primarily a fan of rap and are looking to branch out, The Stooges are a great starting point IMO, makes the transition real easy.

Broken Social Scene - Pacific Theme, Swimmers, & 7/4 Shoreline.

I always played these songs in the car when it started getting warm on the ride home from work. Text my wife that I'm gonna pick up our son, head home, put the windows down a bit, put back the sun roof, get the shades on, & just chill.

Kevin Drew - Good Sex

BTW, Drew's solo album dropped. Solid effort & a good pick up for any BSS fans...

Salad Days is "out".

I'm pretty sure Mac just dropped the AOTY so far, this thing is spotless from top to bottom. So much better than 2

My absolute favorite indie artist:  The Assebly Line.  I've followed Thorfin Nyguen's solo project since he recorded himself singing and playing acoustic guitar through a computer headset microphone.  After hooking up with a big-name producer (and spending a lot of money to do so), his sound went from better to best.

The Black Keys - Fever

Can the BKs still be considered Indie now? :rolleyes

New song from the a new album set to be released May 13th.

I think of this thread more along the lines of alternative but to answer your question I would say no. Once they released Magic Potion they were pretty well known. I do think now they have a more alternative sound that is associated with a lot indie bands.

I wasn't crazy about their last album. I prefer the blues sound on all of their previous stuff. I am not knocking them though they still make solid work.

If St. Vincent is coming to your town go see her. Her act is a little strange, but damn man this chick can play guitar like no one I've ever seen. Her crowd is also different (a lot more old people than I expected lol) but it was still worth every penny. Her opening act, Noveller, was dope as hell too I'll try to post a song from her later when I get home from work.
