The Faction - Skate & Destroy...
Guess who was in this band....Loved skate punk too...I know I'm postin' a lot of old stuff....

That's the type of punk I like. Thanks for putting a name to it, reminds me of the old Tony Hawk games

The Germs - Lexicon Devil

Janes Addiction did a great version of this song called LA Medley that had this, X's Nausea, & The Doors LA Woman...

OH MY GAAAWWWD this thread is fire.

I haven't had time to go through everything in here yet (and I will) but here are a few of my personal favorites.

note: I basically listen to this kinda stuff exclusively. Shunned off "top 40" bands years ago and the radio is non existent to me.

The Pixies - Wave Of Mutilation (original & UK Surf versions)

Can't believe the Pixies didn't make that list.

Woodhands - I Wasn't Made For Fighting

I saw this band open for someone & I can't remember who now...

Not an old head, just a music lover. A lot of the 70s punk bands influenced a lot of the bands that would be called "indie" these days. I kind of just worked my way back in time. I work in a studio and one of the other assistants plays these 70s bands all day every day. When all you hear is Television, New York Dolls, Velvet Underground, Butthole Surfers, Blondie, and Talking Heads is all you hear during the day... it's hard not to become a fan.

Iron and Wine. Haven't listened to this guy in a while, a couple of my favorite tracks from him
