Like I said an Opinion... you value that east coast 90's sound and ****** who wanna keep it "Street" I dont because at the end of the day the music isn't good IMO and its nothing that makes me want to play it back.

And I still bump Bronson, Roc Marciano etc...but that 90's sound doesn't give the average music listener of today the feeling music did in the 90's.  End of the day music is supposed to make you feel a way, that's what people relate to.  This is the reason hip hop has gone back to being a production first craft.  N's not really saying anything of importance on wax anymore but that **** makes you feel a way.  That first A$AP tape still gets spins from me, it's got a balance of sounds.  I can't play Bronson or that type of sound tapes straight through like I used to...

I said yesterday on twitter he probably walked out of Def Jam with 50K tops. Turns out I was right.

$2 mill deal means thats his budget ceiling. Unless he meets the goals or whatever his contract says he wont see 2 mill. And of course its a 360 he's a cartoon character they gonna parade him around everywhere they already got him in a beats commercial for the 3rd leg of that campaign.

Nobody gives a **** about Alchemist in 2012.

Trinidad James came out with a video for a song that has a dope *** beat, has some shock value, appeals to hipsters and the younger generation with lines about Instagram and molly, and the most important part of it all.....he showed some PERSONALITY. That's the number one reason why most of the NYC guys like Action Bronson can't blow up. It's like we go through this with you NYC dudes every single time somebody blows up and you guys STILL don't get it. In anything in life you have to sell yourself, and that's what this guy did a great job of.

na it's not boring, just asap's tape resonates with me better. Them asap n's are my age and from NY just like me. So i'm able to relate to that "lifestyle" I guess wether it's an authentic NY sound or not. Time and place for every style of hip hop. If I want to spark up and zone out to alch and bronson I will, but 75% of the time Asap or someone similar will be the popular opinion of my age group, and i'm 22.

But on the topic of Trinidad, I gave the tape a spin. Besides a couple songs didn't really like it. Do I think he's authentic, no. But his hustle is and makes music people can feel. His **** knocks and is catchy, all thats needed to get a deal nowadays plus a look but that doesn't equate into longevity.
