I dont know how much of a takedown it was at $100. They were worn all through the league and not exactly a "Son of Glove" type takedown you would find at JC Penny's.

I still have my pair of black/whites, beat to death but still have em. Won my city championship in middle school bball wearing these. I wanted these to retro for a while, but if price point is going to be what I'm hearing $100-120, I'm passing big time. Not worth that much to me.

Regarding the Wayup being a takedown of the Penny, there was actually a takedown of the Wayup itself. Pic from ebay (not my auction) and they say it was called the "Deterrent Force"

someone bought them off me 2 years ago for a good amount
the midsoles were wearable & the bubbles were still milky white

I wanted these so bad as a kid. I never got these or the Penny 1's but I did end up getting a pair of Penny 2's in HS. This will fill a nice spot in the collection if I can get em for the right price.

never understood why nike made a shoe that looked almost exactly like the penny 1s. Everybody in the league had these on like todays hyperfuses. lol
