Just got my pup this week at 8 weeks old. Chose him when he was 4 weeks and had him shipped to NY from Florida. Still deciding on a name. I like either smoke or bullet because the color of his coat. So far he's really playful and energetic then naps for like 3 hours. He's a real beauty and I looked for months to purchase one. Paid a pretty penny for him, well here he is...

That blue pit is really nice, and by the looks of him it looks like you might have paid upward of $3K :smh:

You could have saved a lot of money had you went to a shelter in NYC... it's full of pits, blue, red nose, brindle... they're abundant.

You dog does look nice as hell though can't lie. :smokin

A hs buddy of mine is a pretty serious breeder i want one of his puppies bad but my apartment doesn't allow them.

I'll never understand why people pay so much for dogs when you can find them in the shelter.

I got my blue pit from a friend for free that he had gotten from a shelter. Beautiful dog though son.

Good question. I want an English Bulldog, but paying $3K for a dog is just not in my foreseeable future.

I have 3 English Bulldogs. I can tell you everything about them. You live in Chi too right? If so I can give you info on a English Bully rescue. PM me if you want.

Paid 850$ + shipping...taking him to my softball game today. Let's just say if I didn't have a girl, instant coitus from the wiminz.

Honestly that's not even a bad price for paying from a breeder.

Your dog does look very nice as stated, but he looks like he costs a lot more than $850.

I've seen blue pits from breeders that don't look as good as your pup that still fetch $2500+.

Hopefully he's good and healthy and he looks like an active little bugger 8)

You bought him with his ears cropped or did you take him somewhere to get it done.

i bought my dog instead of rescuing from a shelter for the following reasons (some are selfish, i know):

1. i wanted a very specific breed of dog that is not readily found in shelters
2. i wanted a specific color/markings of that breed which makes it even more rare to find in a shelter
3. i wanted a young puppy that i could raise myself

basically it boils down to a willingness to pay for something you really want. its not a perfect comparison, but its like asking why people want to spend $200 for a pair of jordans when they can go to Ross and pickup a pair of basketball shoes for 1/10th the price. Sometimes you just want what you want and you are willing to pay the price for it.

I paid $2,500 for my dog from a breeder and its the best money I ever spent. Its not like when I buy a brand new car and there is diminishing returns on happiness as the car ages. In fact its the exact opposite. With each passing day I spend with my dog, I get more out of the relationship. It is difficult to put a price on the amount of joy that my dog has brought to my life, but it would definitely be more than the money I paid for her.

Pic of her from today

The breeder got the ears done. I didn't mind one but. Thinks it makes him look more bad-*** and they did a really good job on them/perfect length.
