GRADUATE STUDENTS OF NT

Solid advice. Are you attending school now?

MENSA geniuses don't even get 720 on a first try.

I'm more than certain its not that easy for 95+ % of the population

Granted 700+ is typically 90+ percentile but don't sell yourself short.

Solid advice. Are you attending school now?

Nope, Fall 2016 enrollment, currently still in my engineering masters (part-time), giving myself some breathing room / time to prep apps

Nice. A lot of engineers go to b-school to switch careers or to get into a PM role from what I've noticed. I'm sure you'll get into an elite school.

I think anyone can with enough effort like I said before.

Point?

Might be misguided on the purpose of GMAT??
point is your advice should be taken with a grain of salt

Did you miss when I said it's not that easy for 95+% of the population?

That's like VC trying to tell someone 6'2" how to do a 360 windmill

Wanted to add another data point regarding the GMAT. My first timed practice test, I scored a 540 :x . But I'm pretty good at standardized tests, and had the mindset that I'd be able to raise my score if I just grinded. I went hard (took a Manhattan GMAT class, studied 3 hrs per weekday, 4-5 each weekend day) for about 3-4 months, and ended up with a 730. This just shows you that the test is definitely learnable. The material doesn't go past a high school level, but what trips people up is the fact that they don't utilize smart test taking skills. My recommendation is come up with a detailed study schedule and just go full force-GMAT club is a great source for this, and also can be very inspirational.

Came in low on the GMAT... 620... :smh:

What's crazy is my quant sucks.. Snd I have a masters in finance! Smh.

My study game wasntfierce doe...

I'm gonna get to 200 hours in the next two months snd retake in August...

3 per day... 5 on the weekend...

I feel if I can get to the 700s... Then I can apply for the H/S/W ... and be a shoe on for Darden, UCLA, and Berkeley...

I actually met wih a ton of the admissions officers from these schools this weekend...

I'm gonna get that 720, famb... Watch me work!!!

Finished my first year of grad school. Master's in Transportation Management which of a far cry from the education masters I mentioned in this thread before

Like DC said, you check OUT. Passed my last class with B and was ecstatic.

Gravedig...How is everyone doing? My time at Michigan is about 75% done and it has been a wonderful experience. Recently won a national case competition and I have my full-time employment all locked up for June. I think I am going to work for 2-3 years and then go back for my MBA through the consortium..I did Healthcare Admin (MHSA) btw. Whats good with everyone???

A1 gravedig. Life is good here. Halfway through my PhD, and gettin ready to submit my first article for publication in a couple weeks. Now I just gotta figure out how to survive another east coast winter.

@firered18  Congrats on almost being done with your MS. When you say go back and get your MBA through consortium what do you mean?

@DocWatson  how do you like UMD?

I am currently pursuing my Masters in Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins.

Almost done with my first semester 9 more classes to go lol.

If I can get a company to 100% pay for my MBA I will try to get into GeorgeTown.

capital sb capital sb UMD is cool. Faculty are great, the funding is great, and the intramurals leagues are good competition. Can't ask for much more. Been here for 2.5 years and I'm still not used to the humid summers and cold winters though.

And in reference to the MBA consortiums... "The Consortium" is an organization that works with a large group of top-tier business programs, aimed at increasing the representation of under-represented minorities in business. If you're accepted to The Consortium, I think they allow you to apply to like 10 MBA programs for free (or a nominal cost) and also offer free tuition. There might be other consortiums out there, but check out cgsm.org if you're interested.

I been meaning to grave dig this myself. Still need to take the GRE but been looking into Law School for Food Law.

Next year I will began studying

Anyone in health info management or health informatics? Graduating next month & thinking about getting into the field.

Lol I feel you. My last day of class is tomorrow I have a group presentation. 1 class down 9 more to go .

Co-sign on Magoosh.  Really boosted my Quant score.

Manhattan books are good for techniques but the practice exams are unnecessarily difficult and not realistic.

Good luck.

Biology PhD student here. Passed prelims December 7. PI told me I can graduate next December with 1 more first author paper. So happy. Light at the end of the tunnel.
Congrats man. I just filed to graduate this week in my masters of Urban Planning program. What's your research area ?

Appreciate it. I'm doing antibiotic drug design using natural products. We found a bacteria that makes an antibiotic to kill off competing bacteria. Works well even against MRSA.
