Li-Ning Thread

@bds120 Thanks for the information. Its probably a long shot, but hopefully I can find a pair for around the same price.

What the hell are these? :x :x

I'll put this out there since the thread is moving slow and I like well crafted debates as much as anyone...and I'm pretty sure I know how a few of you guys are going to respond so here it goes...

Without putting anyone out there, I saw a WoW4 post on IG with some of the usual captions...I NEED THESE...now they were the above pictured pair. Another so so synthetic/mesh shoe. Looks ok, but IMO NOT up to par with what the WoW brand has established with it's releases up until this point.

So I commented saying something like "why are they completely abandoning what set them apart in the first place?" Which in a nutshell is raw materials and craftsmanship.

The response was evolution and progression...

Do any of you guys feel the same way? That this is a natural evolution...let along a progression...

I don't want to see them abandon what makes them unique and great just because...One of the few in the game who really are heads above the norm in terms of quality and materials. I get that the synthetic pairs will most likely be better built than your standard Nike, but still...I'm still hopeful but ya know...

@Dc30  with the clever prompts. props.

there has been an undeniably significant shift in quality in the last model and a half or so.  for me i first noticed it in the 2.5s with the painted midsoles: beautiful design but executed with inferior and no doubt cheaper materials.  i distinctly remember my midsole paint chipping almost immediately from normal wear.  the other tell tale sign: they just weren't as comfortable.

the 1s were dope. full grain leather shoe modeled after an italian designer boot, wade on the runway on his YZY **** and all of a sudden its the finals, wades rockin the best playoff shoe since bred 11 and old man ray allens yelling get those mfing ropes out of here.  i liked sneakers before the GR 1.5s.  i had a few retros, id stood in some lines outside foot locker.  but i wasnt on NT, checking sneaker blogs daily.  i fell heavy for the GR 1.5s and consequently my appreciation for the culture deepened.

i really applaud all the collectors on this forum and wherever other #wow_family might be, especially those who were not fans of the miami heat or mr. wade county himself prior to the release of the shoe.  i had the advantage of being immediately interested when the 1s dropped as they were my local hometown hero's.  im not going to lie: i didn't pick up any 3s.  i recently put the TNS 1s back in my rotation.  such a clean shoe.  when you start off like that....

i want to love the brand and see it prosper. but @shaw333  might be right: MJ won his 1st championship wearing a 6, Wade his last (barring an absolute miracle) wearing a 1.

i agree with everything you said, but the wow 3 has slowly grown on me even though i doubted it after seeing pics initially.

Regarding both above posts:

I'm a Wade fan, more than a Heat fan. I'm from Chicago, I lived in Milwaukee when Wade was at Marquette. And I personally didn't care for the 1's - a little plain for me, or the 1.5's - I felt they were just overbuilt/overdesigned. But I love the 2.0's. I loved the materials, the design details, a lot of the CW's, and I think it's just a great silo. I have a lot of them. Not all the rare stuff like some guys on here, but a few rare pairs.

2.5 I like alright, but I just have 2. And I do like the 3.0's - I have 10 or so CW's - all of the standard non "lite" shoe.

I have liked the materials and the silos and the way design elements from the previous model carry over to the next model, so the line is "evolving". I just feel some stuff is handled wrong - CW's could be better, the really good stuff could be more available. Regardless, I'm still waiting to decide on the 4.0 but nothing so far has me excited.

Cosign...minus the non Heat fan, and I'm not from Chicago

You gonna drop the dough @AndersonJames? Super nice but I ain't dropping $300+ on them. TNS too.

Yeah, I saw that shot, looking for some non-promo shots showing the 3M from someone on here who has them in hand. Seen some shots on IG but nothing really highlighting the 3M. I like these best of any of the 3.0's, too bad it looks like they don't come with the baby blue laces like the 2.0's.

That's my point. I would like to see the leather that we all feel in love with originally, not all the synthetic materials they've been using lately.
