If I remember correctly they made players stop wearing them because it gave them an unfair advantage due to the fact that it kept the muscles loose from tightening up. But kd wore some last season but his just ended mid calf but a lot of players have started wearing them again. I don't think the league has caught on yet.

i see people wear sleeves quite a bit. i've heard they also help with shin splints. doesnt jeremy lin wear them sometimes too?

Lets get back to the shoes though! I want more info on why these aren't coming paired with the ankle sleeve/bootie. If its just the shoe by itself with the normal drop in insole they keep talking about, there's not really a "system" in place.

And technically it is a "System" again. Nike probably invested a lot into the whole system advertising with the VII's so they wanted to keep it going. You can technically order a Zoom Air drop in mid-sole which would make it a "System" shoe. Not that big of a deal to get worked up over though, it's just a name.
But I like how Nike will offered Zoom as an option. That way everyone is happy.

I had the Kobe V and they were cool, got the Kobe VII olympic this year, but these were not so good.
I am really liking the design of the VIII and I am seriously thinking about getting the Nike+ID pack for USD 270, just made my own custom kicks, I like the suns colourway and yes I remember Kobe and the Suns are not the best friends!

I'm gonna cop the Christmas pair. I have every pair since the zk5's so why not. They are nice. I knew ppl would change their tune once they saw detailed pics. Folks gonna fall in love with them once they see them on kobe's feet tho. Happens every year...
