Do I agree with going from $110 to $160/$180, absolutely not. A gradual increase, I'd totally understand that. The ”Nightmare Before Xmas” will be priced at $180 also.
Oh the black out shorts/tees were from friends at adidas. The shorts are samples as of now.

Any word on how these are selling? I'm hearing not so well.

$120 I think these would fly off the shelf. The big issue, to me, is that for $120 you can get the Soldier VI (best shoe I've worn in years), $140 for HD2012s (great reviews), and $180 for the LeBron X (LeBron + "tech"). You're just not getting enough value for $180 for the Volts or $160 for the GRs. I figure these go on sale in January, or maybe before Xmas if sales don't accelerate.

I have no problem giving Rose premium shoes and charging premium prices - he's a heck of a player and marketable. My problem is that these shoes don't have enough technology and premium materials to justify the price point. As stated in another message you can get the Soldier VI and Hyperdunks for less (especially on sale now) with about the same technology or the Lebron X for about the same with way more technology. These shoes are just overpriced and not having Rose play is going to hurt them moving units at this price. I say drop the price on the 3 and then move the price point up incrementally on future shoes while putting more tech into the shoes (like a better cushioning platform). Just me $0.02...

That's a fairly bad way to look at things. Just because you have a premium endorser doesn't necessarily mean you have a premium product. Moreso, the market has to show they think the premium pricing is substantiated. I honestly think this is a miscalculation on Adidas' part, but that's just my opinion.

I'm still rooting for this shoe to do well, and this line in general to become more popular. Competition is great for the consumer.

Anyone know if th volts are available at the employee store?

I don't understand why people are tripping off the price.

The Crazy Light 2's are $140.00 so $20 more for a signature isn't much.

It's amazing how most of you put up with the BS that Jordan does with their
retros by raising the price every year for the same shoe while adding cheaper materials. I remember in 2002 when the 3's were $100 but now they are going for $160!
That's ridiculous.

Ty said it earlier "premium player, premium price." He's right. Adidas wants the Rose line to have the perception of it being its a premium product and not
just the cheap alternative to Nike.

i bit the bullet  and got chicago fires.   i really like the yellow all stars and i think when i try to find these later on i wont be able to.  for some reason small size adidas shoes are always hard to find.

i finally found the rose 1s for 100.00 shipped on a size 7.   that shoe reminds me of the concords

Big difference between Jordan retros and adidas basketball performance shoes. For $160, you want one of the best shoes on the market. From trying these on several times, they don't feel like they are. I might be proven wrong, but for something this expensive you'd expect the comfort of a Hyperdunk or LeBron.

Comfort level is subjective.

Also look at the pending reviews of them from several sneaker blogs around and that will
tell you something.

One of the most comfortable ball shoes I have ever worn. EVER. Don't care about price or premium or whatever - this shoe is there. Honestly, this feels like the second coming of the Jordan line if he continues his play. It is a performance shoe that looks great casually, like most of the early Jordans. My review should be up by this weekend, but it is one of my tops ever.

WOW! Now I really cant wait for my pair to come in!!! And this is good news because I bought this shoe for both reasons, to ball in and to rock.

Do you own/like the 2.5's??

Also, haven't tried on the Jordan XVIII, have you?

Wow! Brian, that's saying something coming from you. How do these compare to the Jordan 2012s and Crazy Light 2s? Also, have you worn the Wade 2s? If so, how does these compare? I LOVE the Wade 2s...

I'm on the fence because I've been trying to limit myself to only colorways that D Rose wore on the court or would have worn (ie green 2.5s and the Olympic 773 colorways). But I love the yellow on these and when I saw it in person today, I liked how the black on the heel and the stripes had a 3M reflective look to it like actual firefighter uniforms.

I agree with you in worrying that I won't be able to find these later if I decide late that I want. Had trouble like you did tracking down the yellow All Star 1s and luckily tracked down the navy gold 773s today.

I do own and like the 2.5's, but I thought the forefoot fit was a little freer than I like. My favorite Rose's were the PM soles but these are as close performance-wise to those I have worn. Not the same kind of performance, different in feel, but for straight performance they are there.

I do have the XVIII (original black and blue) and funny you ask, they remind me very much of those in materials and looks. Not at restrictive and the stability and court feel in these is better.

It really is. I had a feeling from past experience the 3.0 would be a beast, but I am shocked at how much I like them. The fit and court feel is leaps over the Jordan 2012, and the comfort is way better than the CL2. To me, the 3.0 and CL2, cushioning, court feel, and traction are very similar, and the shoe is just a couple of ounces heavier. The 2012, while it did get better over he test, just can't compete on fit and court feel with the modular set-up. I would say the 2012 is closer to the EQT 2000 as far as adidas comparison.

Wade 2's - I only tried them on at the outlet but honestly, to me, they felt like they fit great and cushioning felt good. I REALLY liked the Super.Fly's, however. As far as fit comparison, the new adi Ghost fits very much like the Wade 2.0.

So I've really been trying to get on board with the 3.0 but have a few questions.  The set up of the shoe....is it supposed to make your foot feel raised/elevated?  Is the shoe better suited for people with high arches?  Maybe I need to try the sneaker on again but I was disappointed.  No, no hate for Adidas, I'm just seeing if this was a concern/problem for others.

wow really adidas??? 180 for the electricity green ones???? come the **** on man...
If you would of copped on the first day on eastbay, they were 160. They messed up on the price. I hopped on that so quick lol. Glad I did. Just can't believe they still have a FSR on these. People are sleeping so hard on em, and they are limited!?
