Official Reebok Kamikaze II Thread AKA "Reignmans"

Let me ask a question. Tomorrow is gonna be the first time i wear em out. I dont wanna lace them up like normal basketball sneakers, id like to go for the "loose toungue, laces coming out of the lace hole without being tied" kind of look, if you know what i mean. Never really been able to get my laces to do that without like touching the ground, any tips on how to make it work?

I think ppl do that by loosening the shoe up from the factory sealed lacing as much as possible and then just lace them to the top hole.

These laces are exceptionally longer than what you see on other shoes in general so it might be hard to do that without just tying them at the end

There are more shops than people think that do stuff like this. Shop owner X pays 50% of MSRP to Nike and doesn't want to deal with opening early, raffles, people sleeping on the floor, etc., so they sell the whole shipment to an established local reseller with an well known ebay account or "boutique" website. They sell somewhere between 75% of MSRP and retail. The make their cut, or at least most of it, with minimal aggravation and employee cost.

Now, if you want to argue that ruins the hobby, you have a leg to stand on.

However, if talk about the dude who buys some GR Jordan Retro at retail and then sells it on ebay for $50 extra - that's petty larceny and doesn't really have an effect on the overall landscape.

Perhaps the best argument about resellers ruining things is that it helps give rise to price increases, as it allows the brand to see what consumers will truly pay for their goods.

Personally, when it comes to either new releases or vintage pieces in my stash, I buy them for a price I'm content with paying. If, subsequent to that, the "market" decides it values the shoes more highly than I do, then I'm going to sell them. That's just the basis of a free market economy. ...That's different than buying with the intent to resell. At the end of the day though, if the "reseller" doesn't have a legit connect, he's just nickel and diming and not impacting much of anything - for him or you. For reselling to really be worthwhile you have to either 1) have no other prospects for income (no opportunity cost), 2) have a legit hook-uo where you are getting bulk orders below MSRP, or 3) have access to things that can really fetch 100% of better mark-up on the secondary market.
You're completely on point with this post.

But you still gotta agree with me that people who post their items up for 200-300 dollars profit and end up with 50 are super annoying lol.

Where can I cop the black/whites?
I think a lot of sites are dropping the black/whites.  If I can remember correctly Eastbay is dropping the black/white tomorrow but u should check their twitter to find out.  Also check your local Finishline, my local (Las Vegas) store is dropping them tomorrow at 10 AM.

I said I was only going to grab the Racing Greens... but may try and grab these or the red & blacks! Damn they're comfy!

Im thinking of getting these in Black and White but dont have the extra money since the WC 3s are coming out next week. Are these expected to sell out right away or can I cop in say 2 weeks? Not sure about the availability, didnt really look into the past release

Can't disagree with that.

The resellers without a real hustle are as dumb as the consumers though. The whole landscape is the blind leading the blind nowadays.

Back to the main topic at hand - so, are the navy/whites (ASGs) dropping tomorrow after all? At one point, it looked like a yes on Eastbay, but 2/15 on most of the other sites?

The first release was limited, these seem to be everywhere. So you shouldnt have too much trouble obtaining these if you wait.

I looked around online and only find ones for the website

i can say that he is telling the truth, had the 10.5 in the kamikaze og that i couldn't find in my area. thank again cj

No problem homey. Glad you enjoy them!

But just because you choose to do that good deed, didn't have anything to do with anyone else. You did that out of your own kindness, so why you worried about who's coming behind you if you leave a pair back? That's not your fault to worry about if a reseller comes behind you and cops.

I just think people look to point fingers so much at resellers when fact of the matter is that too many people sleep on releases. If you want it, become attentive and make sure you cop. It's that easy. There's no sneaker that's un-obtainable for the right price. Not everyone is as kind as you and as fair.

I'll give you similar storyline here, I copped two og sonics. Planned on keeping both, but when I saw all these other colorways coming out, I decided that I was going to part ways with one. So I looked at eBay, resellers were going anywhere from 160-225-250. I said alright, I'm going to charge 157 shipped, which covers the insurance, the cost for the box, the label, and the 4%. So by time I'm done with everything else I probably end up with like 128-135.

Offer to sell that extra pair for 157, people hit me up saying that's too high. I go on Craigslist and someone gladly gives me 160. Am I wrong?

Because I offered a reasonable price, opposed to what people want. All these websites want 180 and you'll be lucky to get a damn return label if you cop. You can't fault me for not selling for retail like you did, because 9 times out of 10 the people you help out aren't going to return the favor. So excuse me if I don't use the same tactics. If these were true grails for most people then they would've jumped on em two weeks before the release with the packer pre order and the YCMC preorder like I did.

It's just a constructive conversation, but I'm interested to see where you ascend with your standpoint.

I think we got our lines crossed. I was COMPLETELY in agreement with you about reselling. I don't necessarily see it as a bad thing at all. Again, a person is going to pay what they are going to pay. Simple as that.....

On another note, I'm not copping these other color ways w/o a disco. So I need a size 14 to roll through my local retailers...and lol @ the timer for these on Eastbay. I highly doubt these sell out. Now these probably will end up like the ES22.
