2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

In all seriousness it should be a closer game then we're all expecting. I'll just throw out 34-24 Florida. Wish we were getting that seminole war canoe though :smh:

Shake your head at your Athletic Department.

Ermon and Coley next year, though.

Clemson OC Chad Morris has always been real straightforward about where the offense is and whether he's happy how things are going or not. So far he sounds real comfortable with that side of the ball so far this year.

"I'm not saying anything but I'm just saying..."

OXFORD — Since January, Ole Miss has challenged its critics to put up or shut up. The NCAA seems to be taking them up.

That's what can be drawn out so far from the NCAA's recent actions, as it continues to probe Ole Miss' recruiting. The latest story Ole Miss was forced to confront head-on Monday was from CBSSports.com, which reported that five-star Houston prospect Chris Jones was interviewed by NCAA investigators about Ole Miss' recruitment of him.

That Jones is now a Mississippi State freshman — and as an Under Armour All-American defensive end had been the subject of a heated recruiting war between the in-state rivals in the month leading up to February's National Signing Day — only added to the fervor over the story. Jones' mother, Mary Woodhouse, told the website that she did not know about the NCAA meeting. Neither did Jones' high school coach, Houston's William Cook.

"I have no idea," Cook said when asked if he knew of any potential violations the NCAA would be interested in.

The NCAA, for its part, does not comment on "current, pending or potential investigations," spokesperson Emily Potter wrote in an email.

OLE MISS: Response to allegations

It was just a week ago that Ole Miss said it had been cleared of any wrongdoing in the recruitment of current junior C.J. Johnson, who signed in 2011. That's just two calendar years ago, but practically ancient by Ole Miss standards — the school has switched coaches, athletic directors and even compliance directors since then.

But combine Jones and Johnson, and it becomes clear that the NCAA is paying attention to the goings-on in Oxford.

Ole Miss, for its part, continues to take the same tone it did when coach Hugh Freeze sent a tweet in January telling those with evidence of recruiting violations to email the university's compliance department. That happened when Freeze was on the verge of signing the first top-10 class in Ole Miss' history, beating out powerhouse programs like LSU, Alabama and Georgia for top prospects like Robert Nkemdiche, Tony Conner and Laremy Tunsil.

The school received 85 emails in response to Freeze's Tweet but has refused to release 31 of them (citing student-privacy rights).

"I'm confident in the way that we go about things," Freeze said Monday. "I've said that from Day 1. Whoever their sources are, I'm sure they'll check them out the same way they have every one. But again, I'm very confident in the way we are going about our business here and the way we want to do it. We got to get ready for Vandy, so we certainly can't let whatever all that is affect us."

Asked why he thinks the questions have not stopped, Freeze said he was puzzled.

"I'm certain the NCAA doesn't talk about it, so I don't know where you're getting it," the second-year Ole Miss coach said. "You all tell me where you're getting it, and we'll try to figure out what is going on."
