2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

You really think Pinkel is safe, Statis? Man I gotta think if they don't at least compete with Franklin back this year he's in real trouble...

i got to agree.

They are also dead last in recruiting in the SEC w/ very few commits. The prospects think he's a lame duck too

Hopefully Kadeem Carey busts it open this year again.

In all seriousness, with one of the countries worst defenses, losing our best receiver, an unproven quarterback and a very questionable offensive line, a repeat of lat season (8-5) would be a solid accomplishment.

He didn't want to move to the SEC either, supposedly...

I don't see how he survives another 5-7 or 6-6.

Soph WR Amara Darboh will miss the year with foot surgery... Looked like a starter on the outside with Gallon... Unfortunately, lazy Jeremy Jackson will probably get the nod... Jehu Chesson can stretch the field so he better get a look... Gallon and Gardner could have a nice year together still

I wouldn't think there would be too much of a drop off between Chesson and Darboh. Darboh is more physically ready but I read that Chesson actually has better hands. Why can things like this never happen to JJackson?

Missouri's first losing season in about 8 years was still better than schools like Arkansas, Auburn & Tennesse, and that's with injuries at key positions killing team depth. Also even in the Big 12 Mizzou was never the strongest recruiter and have pretty much built what they have now on how there've always recruited.

Sure Pinkel may get heat if they suffer through another 5-7 season but I don't think his seat is any hitter than say a Kirk Ferentz at Iowa. He's safe.

And I agree but they aren't wired like a typical SEC team either. This is who they've been their entire football history.

Kirk isn't going anywhere with that contract.....Iowa stuck for another good 3 years but I do think Iowa will be improved this year

Pinkel out if they have another losing season imo

How hurt is the FSU WR corp? Read a quick article in the Miami Herald talking about Greene needing to step up. Only know him and Benjamin really.

Greene (as in Rashad) or Green (as in Christian). If its the latter, then the writer is right

FSU has lost 3 of their top 7 (Dent w/ the Sexual Assault, Haggins - Knee surgery out for the year, Haulstead - Ineligble) Dent was arguably the best offensive skill player coming out of the spring. Only returning 4 WR's w/ experience Rashad Green, Kenny Shaw, Kelvin Benjamin, Christian Green. The 3 freshman WR's will definitely have to play this year and they have been fairly impressive since arriving on campus (Kermit Whitfield, Bobo Wilson, Isaiah Jones). Majority of the balls will be going to Benjamin, Greene, Shaw barring injury. WR unit went from No worries, to a slight worry, to 1 injury away from a real worry. Christian Green stepping up in that 4th WR spot would be a major boost.

Seems like there was already going to be an extra emphasis on the run anyways so some of the WR impact is mitigated some.

Benjamin also isn't fat anymore, so that's a good sign.
