2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

so at what point does texas stop letting mack fire his coaching staff and let him go? and I love how he did it when everyone has all eyes on the NFL

And he hired former Meat Chicken DC Greg Robinson to replace him.

This is Mack's last year for sure.

I'd still take Manny Diaz as our DC in a heartbeat

wow Mamba in this thread after a florida L.......havent seen this fool since the tebow days

700

Mack is still owed like $40 million on the extension he just signed... That LHN money gonna be flushed out buying him out.

Diaz sucks. Applewhite sucks, too. All the advantages Mack had built for them in-state for the last decade have basically disappeared. It's time, but dammit it's gonna be expensive unless he decides to just retire and walk away from that money.

If the season ended today, who would be Texas' and USC's top target(s)?

Who's potentially on that short list?

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. -- UCLA freshman wide receiver Nick Pasquale has been struck by a car and killed while walking in San Clemente. He was 20.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department reports that Pasquale was struck about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

It wasn't immediately clear if he was trying to cross a street.

However, Sheriff's Lt. Gary Strachan says the car's driver stopped, called authorities and stayed with Pasquale until they arrived.

The accident is under investigation. Strachan says no one was arrested.

Pasquale, a redshirt freshman, was a preferred walk-on from San Clemente High.

"This is a tragic loss," said UCLA coach Jim Mora. "Nick was an outstanding young man who had a positive impact on everyone who knew him. He was a great teammate who was loved and respected by his entire team. Our thoughts are with the Pasquale family."

James Franklin, Gus Malzahn, Gary Patterson, Art Briles, Kevin Sumlin....could see a lot of shakeup in the offseason, when and if the USC & Texas jobs open up

Franklin- he has a cloud over him right now, poor timing.
Malzhan- don't see it, too big a step.
Sumlin- Why leave aTm?
Patterson- built his brand at TCU. Doubt he leaves.
Briles- UT would be smart to go after him.

Personally wouldn't mind going after Pat Fitzgerald. Like his style, but would be hard to pry him from his alma mater to go to a team that heat him in the 96 Rose Bowl.

If BJ Daniels can make a roster as a QB in the NFL, I know DG can make it somewhere on a squad.. I'm just sayin

Wouldn't doubt Kirby Smart taking that Texas gig tho

I would think DG would get drafted in the NFL. He has nice arm with good mobility which is what the NFL seems to be trending to at QB. He obviously needs to cut down on his TO's and I think his footwork needs work. He's only started 7 games.
