Peter King wrote in column today that many within the NFL ranks believe that Manziel is undraftable due to his mood swings, off field issues and his tendency to party too much. However, that out of the 32 teams, one will take a chance on him barring that he self destructs between today and draft day. NFL isn't buying the just another college kid excuse one bit. Its a business at the end of the day.
After his Huskers' 41-21 loss to UCLA Saturday -- the fourth time in Nebraska's past five games his defense has given up 500 yards or more -- it's no surprise that Bo Pelini is under fire. But there's "under fire," and then there's whatever "program legend publicly calls for the dismissal of the entire defensive staff" is.

Tommie Frazier might be a kind of walking college football folk tale -- they're even letting him into the College Football Hall of Fame now! How nice! -- but he still has the requisite Twitter account, and he used that account Saturday to blast the Huskers defensive coaching performance and say it was "time for change" in Lincoln.

The complete, verbatim text of the extended-length tweet:
After letting it sink in for about 4 hours I still struggling. It's time to get rid of the defensive play caller, the Dc, lb dl and db coaches. I hate saying this but this crap is getting old. How in the hell do you not make adjustments or put your players in the position to compete? If this is what is going to happen for the remainder of the season, count me out. I don't care if we lose a game but the way we are losing is just not what #Nebraska fans deserve. I have fought, bled, and cried over this program. I didn't do all that for the program to become what it has today. Time for change! I will comment about the offense this week on Tommie's X's and O's. Trust me you don't want to miss it. #Huskers

it doesn't help that his dad came out and basically said he has a drinking problem and he has a bad tantrum. just behind RG3's dad for father of the year award.

I see Johnny falling to late second or early third. Backyard football style will appeal to some offensive coach with creativity.

The new NFL demands mobility in the pocket. Teddy, Johnny, MM, Hundley all benefiting with draft stock.

3rd round? He's the best offensive player in college football since AD probably. Not a chance in hell he falls out of the 1st round. You don't pass up once in a generation talent because a kid likes to have fun.

Manziel is going top 15 don't worry. Behind the image of him that ESPN likes to portray he's a mature guy and a great leader. Bama game just proved it even more so.

Also, he has too much talent to simply ignore. Nobody walks all over Saban defenses like he has. Especially considering how much effort Bama put in to stopping him.

It'd be one thing if his off field stuff affected his on field play, but it hasn't. People said he'd slump this year because of his off the field life, but he's only gotten better.

As long as he's not out doing drugs, getting arrested, or in trouble he'll be fine.

Simply put, you don't pass up on his kind of talent over some trivial off the field BS

As of now, I don't see Manziel as anything more than a high-grade Flutie that provides a spark for a team.

He can't get a way with some of his haphazard throws he makes in college and a lot of that running around and scrambling time will be cut down considerably in the NFL. I'd stay away even though I love watching him play.

Height concerns: He's not Brees or Russy.

Wild style: Backyard football is unconventional and unproven in the NFL.

Decision-making: That Tyree heave was a questionable throw. Back corner fade was partially the receiver's fault, but also some blame on Johnny.

Durability: Can he scramble and take hits with his frame at the highest level? Vick says otherwise.

Off-field concerns: Drinking, mercurial personality, center of scandals.

Peter King is a blowhard.

I think Manziel is a sure-bet to go in the 1st. Someone will gamble on him. BucEm had a great comparison - Jeff Garcia.

So, after Teddy Bridgewater who else can you see going first round if they declare or are elgible? Hundley, *Mariota, Manziel, McCarron?

*Oregon fans...what's the deal w/ COlt Lyerla?

Teddy's sure fire top-7.

I'd take MM and Hundley over Johnny, and I rate both late first to early second.

McCarron is the interesting one. Super underrated. How much of it is the elite supporting cast?

He's well-coached under Saban. Smart with the football. A proven leader. I have no problem with a draft analyst ranking AJ over Manziel.

People say the same thing every damn year about mobile QBs. :smh:

Cam Newton...he won't be able to run in the NFL
RG3....he won't be able to run in the NFL
Kaep....can't run in the NFL

Even Terrelle Pryor's bum self is having success in the NFL.

So spare me the Manziel won't succeed in the NFL with his style of play you Merrill Hodge sounding geezer

Top-15? Skip Bayless, is that you.

That's the type of risky pick that gets GM's fired.

You sound dumb as hell.

Taking the best player in college football in the last decade top 15 is risky? When did Manziel become Jamarcus Russell?

No....NOT taking Manziel is the type of decision that gets GMs fired.

Man..Step your *** back. He was making extremely valid points. Success in the NFL should not be based off of a 3-year sample, let alone 2 games. You're talking about guys that can run...WE talkin' about QUARTERBACKS.

He's got a couple inches on both of them. Reason why Brees suceeds despite his height is his pocket presence, and Manziel's pocket presence is very comparable to Brees. Vick, Brees, Russy, have proven that shorter QBs with good mobility can work in NFL.

Backyard football? You saw a couple of highlights on Sportscenter of him making ridiculous plays and judged that to be the identity of his game. You can't do what he did to Bama's defense playing "backyard" football. He is just as good in the pocket as he is when he has to improvise. You don't have 72% completion in 2 games against Bama, which is close to an NFL defense as it gets in college, playing "backyard" football.

He ran for 98yds against Bama? How many big hits did he take? None. He pretty much always gets out of bounds or will slide when he runs to avoid hits. durability isn't an issue if you're not getting hit.

A college kid drinking in the offseason is a concern? Nobody can speak to his personality if you don't know him personally. ESPN making a mountain out of trivial issues doesn't make him a bad character.

Plus the fact that he's a RS Sophomore....he's only going to get better and more mature.

For McCarron's sake, I hope he ends up with a good team where he can sit for a year or two before getting regular PT.

Colt was sick and missed the game. Coach Mark tried to be Chip-lite with his comments after the game and Colt didn't like it.

Should be good to go after the bye week.

Ahh...thanks, man. Kinda weird how Helfrich just didn't say he was sick. **** was leading to all sorts of wild speculation.
