Separate from that, disrespecting Sumlin W1 didn't reflect leadership. Just saying.

He didn't disrespect Sumlin. Sumlin even said it in his press conference after the game.



I guess when he was picking up his sad teammates on the sidelines after the Bama game and encouraging that wasn't leader-like either.


Y'all are just reaching for ish to criticize him about at this point. :smh:

Sumlin said that if Johnny responded to what he had said on the sidelines, that would have been disrespectful.

Manziel is incredibly polarizing.

Seems the A&M fans and Johnny supporters are ride and die. Some with blinders on, seeing no fault. You must concede there are red flags with his character at the college level and legitimate football concerns regarding QB skills when he does enter the NFL.

On the other side is ESPN and Johnny haters. Making mountains out of molehills.

I'm neither. Square in the middle with no horse in the race. I think he's unique. Can he make it work in the league? Let's see.

If he drops past the 3rd, I would happily take him on the eagles

I almost felt like that Barkley pick was a "value pick" to stash and try to flip later on. Heck, they didn't even have to invest too much into him.

I think we are going mariota or hundley in the 1st or very early 2nd..

Chip just wants his QB to be a threat to run.. Picking spots when "cheap" yardage is there to be had.. But he doesn't want his QB taking a beating

Accuracy and ball security are more important elements and smarts.. He wants to constantly keep moving forward.. So no holding on to the ball and taking a bunch of sacks and no dumb turnovers
 
Maybe I'm reading too much into his comments but it seems like he was planning on leaving.  Did he think that he was going to get the OSU job?

He routinely gets blown out by high quality opponents, and he was supposed to be a defensive guru when he was hired. The Callahan guys left and it been downhill ever since. He's about done there and he probably knows it.

Kinda funny this would come out now seeing it was recorded in 2011. Feels like a sabotage job to get the wheels rolling faster to get him out.

Not saying he isn't, but you seemed to be knocking Barry Sanders for having prematurely ended his career. :lol:

Also, while he's definitely in the discussion for best ever, it's hard for me to unequivocally state that since I only can see highlights and the level of competition he played in that era. I do think he would have been a beast in any era though a la Wilt.

Hard to get talent to come to Lincoln Nebraska when other teams within Nebraska's region are competitive, unlike what they were in the 90's
I remember reading this article a while back detailing the differences of recruiting when Tom Osborne was coach compared now to Bo Pelini

- Missouri, Kansas, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State have all been ranked in the top five at some point during the last six seasons; that never happened during Tom Osborne's time in Lincoln.

- Wisconsin has become a top-tier program in the Big Ten in recent years. Northwestern is no longer the joke they were either. Even Iowa State is going to bowl games on a regular basis. Looking around the region, Colorado is the only football program that's regressed in recent years. Colorado may be turning around though with their new hire

- Ten years ago, BCS schools recruited 200 players from the region. Over the last five years, that number is down to 150. During the Osborne era, Nebraska filled it's roster with in-state players, typically with several native Nebraskans. The last two years, only three Nebraska high school players signed to play for a BCS school, and one of those was Christian LaCouture, a transfer from Texas.


Also since the game starts in the trenches most of Nebraska's lineman didn't play until their RS soph or RS Jr years in order to gain the strenght necessary to play at that level

completely forgot about that top 5 jayhawks team. we still need answers for that.

and Pelinni has done virtually nothing with Taylor Martinez who damn near feels like a career college quarterback now. Seems like he's been there forever.

for a COLLEGE QB in a system built around them Tebow is probably the best we have seen

all seriousness Tebow and Reggie Bush are 2 of the greatest college players of all time that we may ever get to see

I dont get that from Johnny.............

My Man Tommy Frazier would like to have a word with you about that...haha

33-3 record as a starter 2 National Titles, and 4 straight conference titles. And imagine how he would have been w/o the bloodclots. Tebow has better stats but Frazier is still one of the most underappreciated QB's of College Football
 
one of the biggest games in recent memory for my hoosiers this weekend. Mizzou coming to bloomington. Hoping its a good game and that we dont get blown out.
