2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

too much talking goin on

we got a lot of football left to be played

we got UCLA, Stanford, and a sleeeper Utah game ahead

while the Canes have a date with FSU, V Tech, and maybe a ACC Championship after that against Clemson or FSU again

I'm on team titles or bust. It's nice an everything to win games, just feel unfulfilled at the end of the season.

it's fine to have that mindset if you're actually a team in the running or that has been in the running. but miss me with fanbases who haven't seen a 10 win season in 10 years talking about title or bust. be more rational and set your goals accordingly.
 
I don't think it has to do with rationality, to teams that have won national championships there is a standard that has been set. Your have proven to be competitive and achieve the highest level of success. No matter when that was (assuming you were alive to experience them winning one or several as I'm sure CP is) there is really no satisfaction in getting back close to the top. You know the program is capable and you expect them to be on top again, getting close may be even worse than being bad in my opinion; see 2009 when we lost to Bama in the SEC title game and ended up 12-1 destroying Louisville. I didn't 'eem care. I was more pissed for us getting beat by Bama.

Loser mentality.

So my goal is 8 wins this year? That should be my goal? :lol: Are you ****** serious?

So we should start every year, just hopin to get 6 wins for a bowl, then maybe 8 the next year ,then we can dare to dream about 10 wins, now all our players graduate or leave for the NFL, so we go back to hopin for 6 wins, then 8.......... :lol:

Naw. Win it all, or failed year. I can't be any more clear than that.

Sure that don't mean that steps aren't taken, programs rise and fall, etc. Course that goes on. 6 wins to 10 wins, great. Good for that program. Still didn't win the title, so how can one walk around claiming success?


Again, Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame, USC, Yankees, Lakers, Cowboys, etc, you think all those teams walk into each season hopin to just win X number of games? Just win their division/conference? Those teams, those programs didn't get great by hoping to win a few games and maybe a bowl win, or a tournament win, etc. They go after it all, and when they fail, they come back harder the next year, and on and on and on.

If you guys want to be happy with 8-9 wins and a bowl game, cool. Enjoy that. Just don't let me find you spouting off on programs that have actually won it all and go for that goal every year, even when they fail. Cuz that's weak as ****.


I have this feeling I'm almost guaranteeing a win for North Carolina tomorrow. Damn near swing the Vegas line all by myself this week. ****. :lol: :lol:
 
Miami finish the regular season 10-2 or better ima be happy as **** and pray a team doesn't scoop Golden

but you at least got to the SEC title game. you gave yourself a legitimate chance to get to the NC game. to call that a failed season, i get it. miami hasn't even won 8 games in the last 4 years. 4 years. if you're expecting to win the national title and you haven't won 8 games in the last 4 years, you're being irrational IMO
 
Did someone really call Bama out for playing nobodies? They've won 3 of the past 4 national championships, with their lowest margin of victory being 16 points lol
