2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

Bowl ban is a bowl ban. Look at Ohio state if they would have just taken there's instead of appealing they would have been in the NC last year. Instead they appealed and played in the bowl game. You can't punish the team cause they had a bad season and say oh that doesn't count cause they had a bad season.

Yeah, but the way Miami handled the bowl bans were genius. They didn't announce their withdrawal from bowl consideration at the start of the season but did it more than halfway through the season when they knew they weren't going to a good bowl anyway.

Obviously those self-imposed bowl bans were the right thing to do, but I would have respected the decision even more if they announced it before their 2011 season. If they did so, they would have had that hanging over their heads, and recruiting would have been much more difficult. Again, a genius move.

You? I'd laugh at and ask to clean the table off before I sit down.

LOL.

Funny thing is I actually used to be cool with Gunna, was going to make it to one of his benefit/charity runs in Florida but I got called to go to Iraq, but then I got back and it's like dude changed or something.

LOL.

Such an underrated thread.

Y'all are dumb. How are you going to announce a bowl ban before you are even bowl eligible? Both seasons we announced right after we won the 6th game to make us bowl eligible.

What are you supposed to do....announce a bowl ban in week 1, end up only winning 5 games, then look stupid for imposing a ban on a bowl you're not even eligible for?

Just read the Miami report. How the NCAA only came up with 9 scholarships after reading what they wrote is

How bout because we were negatively recruited for 3 years. How bout we gave up 2 bowl.games and an acc championship game. How bout we were taking scholarships from ourselves during the whole thing.

you guys lost like 20 scholarships over four years though, and gave up bowl games in your 6-6 seasons..

I'm not saying Miami should've been punished more severely, but it just shows USC's case as the only extreme outlier

tired of dudes defending the NCAA in that regard, hopefully we take the NCAA to court in the near future

You SC fans gotta stop acting like poor helpless victims. Don't blame the NCAA, blame your AD and administration for not cooperating with the NCAA, and lying and trying to cover it up.

The one common pattern with the NCAA is that if you cooperate your penalty will be less severe. SC did the opposite of cooperate. And that is why your penalty was so much worse than everybody else's. Stop crying.

I didn't even mention USC in any of my posts

But since you wanna go there, please tell me how USC didn't cooperate. I keep hearing this the past 2 days, so please entertain me. The NCAA even said we cooperated in their report

Why would I blame my administration? The NCAA IS at fault.

this "USC didn't cooperate" argument used to protect the NCAA is the worst. Go read their own reports, they say we fully cooperated. I'll help you out, it's on page 56.
