2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

Only problem is IDK where they would put the stadium.

They keep saying tropical park, but I actually never see that happening. No way in hell it fits on the UM campus and the city of Coral gables is not letting that happen ever.
they afraid we gonna turn their precious miracle mile/merrit park into coconut grove 2.0

OH MY LORD. the disrespect these dudes david pollack rece davis and jesse palmer just gave us on bcs countdown, if im al golden i show them that recording every day intill saturday night.

I'd rather have a baseball diamond for a few gamess then to be at that stadium. I'm closer to sunlife but the amount of time I wait trying to park and then leave parking It takes the same amount of time of driving down to the OB

I know what you mean. The marlins just don't want anything to do with sharing a stadium. Not with the current owner loria. His pitch to the city was miami needing an exclusive baseball only stadium for the team to thrive in and not worry about having to deal with the football teams. The bowl games work because it's only for a couple of days and not during their baseball season.

Well we all know how that went. He pretty much hustled the city. Signed all these players so it would look like he was actually trying to thrive in the stadium then after just dump.em all off

It;s amazing to me the amount of tax-dollars these cities give to multi-million dollar franchises to further their business into a position to make more money than most of us will ever see.

I mean, do these cities across the county share the revenue or do they just get a structured repayment with interest over time?

But then Loria decided to switch to a different form of welfare: taxpayers. Last year the Marlines opened $639 million, publicly-financed ballpark and parking complex. Usually teams thrive when they first move into a new stadium because of higher attendance, splashy amenities and luxury seating boost revenue. But the Marlins stadium has been a disaster and Mami-Dade county taxpayers are getting hosed like nobody before them.

For starers, the stadium’s financing scheme means there will be some $3 billion in interest expenses on the construction loans that will be paid by city and county taxpayers. Worse for taxpayers there is no incentive for Loria to put a good team on the field because the city and county must pay the bondholders regardless of how the team performs. Moreover, a small but quirky part of the bond financing has turned a $91 million loan into a $1.2 billion liability for taxpayers. And to add insult to injury the Marlins are nickel-and-diming taxpayers over capital repair costs.

That is why I never want to pay for another stadium in Miami. My tax dollars go to that piece of crap.
