Still hurting for Missouri, college kickers are real. That 4th & goal the first OT hurt even worse.

And Connor Shaw was a legit hero.

I received the following letter from a former University of Oregon football player who attended his first football game as a fan last Saturday for the Ducks game vs. UCLA. This player played in a recent BCS bowl game for Oregon. Now he's a fan. He was incredibly disappointed and dismayed at what he observed.

Is the former player right? or is this an isolated experience?

His words...

I Love The Ducks. I Hate Duck Fans.

I, for the first time, attended a ducks game as spectator. I was excited to experience tailgating, cheering, and being with friends, rather than the seriousness that comes with preparing for a game. My buddy, whom I had given tickets to all throughout my time as a player, decided he wanted to pay me back and offer me tickets in corner end-zone seats as a regular fan. I accepted his offer with enthusiasm.

We enjoyed seeing friends, shaking hands, and sharing drinks with fellow supporters.

My friend and I took our seats where I soon became acquainted with the most ignorant people in all of college football. Directly behind me were a couple of drunk (expletive) who criticized Marcus' ability to throw the football, DeAnthony's ability to run the football, the lineman's ability block, and the coach's ability to analyze film and call plays. After hearing so much ignorant (expletive), I turned around to tell the "fans" to chill the (expletive) out. Marcus had overthrown a receiver on a tough play and the spectator made comment, "Hey, Marcus! Throw it inbounds, dumbass!" in, which I finally had enough, and turned around and asked if he would like to get down there and take Marcus' place. The man responded, "No". Then I asked if we were all still rooting for Oregon, in which he responded in an aggressive, irrelevant and incoherent manner and so I decided to discontinue the conversation I had started with him.

I was then verbally attacked by other spectators saying, "you need to keep your (expletive) mouth shut, because you don't know (expletive) about football." They claimed that I didn't know that they had coached college football, and that I had no idea what I was talking about. Ironic to say the least, considering my background and what you know of me, what my old teammates know of me, and what my old coaches know of me.

Not too long after, a woman a couple seats down yelled for 10 minutes straight about how the players were playing like "(expletive)". The coaches were being "(expletive)". The refs were being "(expletive)". All during the time I was telling my friend how embarrassing it was to have her on our side. And then I started hearing laughter from the surrounding crowd and encouragement of that behavior. Is this really what goes on in the stands? Is this really the type of people we attract???

I remember walking in from fall camp practice and talking to my teammates about how similar our lives were to the TV series Spartacus. We were slaves. We were paid enough to live, eat, and train... And nothing more. We went out on the field where we were broken down physically and mentally every day, only to wake up and do it again on the next. On the outside, spectators placed bets and objectified us. They put us on pedestals and worshipped us for a short time, but only as long as we were winning. In the end, we were just a bunch of dumbass (racial slur) for the owners to whip, and the rich to bet on.

What I described is a business, I know. It's how it works, and it is something we understand as athletes entering the system, as (expletive) up as it is. For many people entering that system, it's better than what life has to offer elsewhere. So they take it. But having been on the outside now, to witness this disgusting display of "support", I know that I want no (expletive) part of it. I will never attend a duck game as a spectator again. I am disgusted by duck fans and I will sit back and observe from afar with high hopes for the player's success and understanding of their sacrifice, without having to hear the spoiled woes of ignorant fans.

I will always love the ducks: my coaches, my teammates, my brothers and family. The rest... Go (expletive) yourselves.

These must be the people CP interacts with on a daily basis. I don't know anybody that's like this :smh: Idiots
 
Every fanbase has em and of course it's the loudest than know the least. If you've got 50 fans immediately around you and 3 are loud, obnoxious, dolts...you're going to walk away remembering those 3 more than the 47 who might've just been into the game, cheering and acting normal.

Yeah. Kind of naive to only talk about those people. There are a lot of good, knowledgeable, and appreciating fans out there who really support their programs through thick and thin. Sad he didn't give thought to those people.

I never really had an issue at Autzen until my third trip there. A fat couple was sitting in mine and Fizzy Womack's seats. Of course they refused to move and so we squeezed in the best we could because the game was starting, and really didn't feel like getting this whole fight started at kick off.
I was less than kind.
I don't think I've ever farted directionally in public that much before or since. They were less than pleasant to wiff.
I few people asked if we were comfortable enough, and I would reply with, "Oh sure, I love Seaworld." I also struck up a loud conversation with a stranger on how gross I find dating fat chicks.
At one point I placed my hand on the guys knee, and when he looked at me I somehow manage to say with a straight face, "With **** that big you might just get lucky tonight!"
They refused to move, or maybe getting up was too much work as they were breathing hard just sitting.

Anyways eventually a seat opened up and the person vacating gave it to Fizzy Womack which was almost as kind of an act as the one the fat couple was rude.
So that's my bad Autzen experience

Eh, I've had plenty of "Duck fans can **** off" times myself.
 
Only thing I've ever dealt with at sun life was in 2011 when we played OSU and after the game some old bald ****faced OSU fan grabbed his crotch and was starring at my girl and I just asked him if he was straight and was about to hit him but my girl.told me not to another cane fan jumped right UP when I said it pretty sure we we gonna jump dude

This logic doesn't apply to Duck fans, not talking about the ones on this board, but Duck fans are known throughout the Pac 12 as being the worst.

How are Beaver fans not the worst? Or is it they're just really bad in Corvallis? I had a girl swing at me when I laughed because she thought the Beavers should still go to a bowl game at 3-9 :lol:
 
My wife choked a ***** at a Seattle game couple years back. :lol: :pimp:

Lady was sayin **** to her sister and wife went for her throat to shut her up.

She's been to Seahawk games probably 4-5 times and hassled by the fans every single time. (Cowboys fan)

All fan bases have drunk idiots. I loathe most Duck fans, but something like that can't be pinned on all of em. I know plenty that don't get that stupid.

Only issue i have ever had is the rows are so damn close together. people be driving there knees into your back all half time. I sure hope people go to football games though and expect drunk annoying fans.
 
Clemson fans are pretty damn chill, they get as wasted as any others (probably moreso), but they know they're all hype so it's all good vibes and their womenz are always looking for an outlet... We had em shook, wish I had took better vids





My cousin was wild drunk and reckless tho, dude got to the stadium entrance while it was crazy packed just before the game started and turned around toward the crowd and started repeatedly yelling "CLEMSON SUCKS" and other obscenities

Only been to one away Ohio State game and it was @ Purdue a couple years ago.

Fans didn't give a ****. it was a fun *** time even though Purdue won :lol:
 
Obnoxious fans are just part of the game experience. If you can't hand a few curses and insults then you should just tay your *** at home until you grow some thicker skin.

People at sporting events are drunk and emotional, of course they're going to belligerent.
 
If you can't handle your alcohol or your own emotions, or getting emotional over something that you don't have any actual involvement in, you should probably keep your *** at home until you grow up

my roomates went to a wisconsin game when i was in undergrad


they said hundreds of fans spit on them LMAO

so wisconsin has the worst fans.
