2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

Oregon didn't choke. Stanford executed defensively near perfectly. Skov is a leader personified.

Stanford executed offensively, they pounded Oregon into submission. Oregon turned it on in the 4th, Stanford got comfortable and it almost bit them. Oregon choked, just like Stanford choked against Utah.

I hope they end up missing out on the BCS altogether. 11-1 Emerald bowl? Mmmm how sweet it is.

Emerald Bowl? You know they still have "At Large" bids? No need to be irrational,.

, don't want to see Oregon get smashed by Bama.

Looking for gifs in response because he won't take the L lightly

he's probably fixin' to get banned again over this. what was that game oregon lost a couple years back that he got banned over? was it a civil war game?

Or he's buying up all the "we want bama" shirts while they're on clearance so he can wear them next year. Well, at least until they lose another big game knocking them out of the national championship race

feels like a bad dream :smh:

Stanford played well, and did exactly what they needed to, BUT I don't think I can say that they won the game, I think Oregon lost it.

That first quarter was so crucial to how the rest of the game played out IMO

If MM/Huff connect on that first drive for 6 I think ducks probably go onto win that game. Say what you want but they still moved the ball on Stanford pretty well, they just couldn't capitalize when they needed to in the red zone. They left so many points off the board it makes me sick just thinking about it. :x

I swear, mediocrity in this state is contagious. Ducks, Beavers, Blazers, man... its depressing. :smh:

Stanford played well most of the game and they did win but people need to chill with that "they should hop OSU and Baylor talk".. Like we're gonna sit here and like thy didn't lose to Utah...

Oregon's poor execution cost them that game. The three failed attempts to tackle Hogan summed up their night until they went on to score 20 in a matter of minutes.
RT @PhilHecken Western Mich. football will wear "2" on helmets to honor Eastern Mich's Demarius Reed

He has a point, playing from behind is what killed Oregon. Stanford can't use that same power gameplan is they aren't leading, using up over half a quarter on each drive

But yeah stanford took it to em and executed very well. Oregon couldn't stop the run for ****

I don't see how anyone that likes football would like to see this game,

Don't know how you can say that. The whole "contrasting styles" angle is yielding the same results bruh. The most exciting game I seen all year was the Bama/Aggie shootout.. I think a Oregon/Baylor game would be exciting.. But thats just me though bro

TOP was 42 to 17 in favor of Stanford and most of their drives resulted in points. Stanford earned that win. Let's not take the final score and rehash missed opportunities all of a sudden. This was a lopsided ball game. Stanford dominated.

Don't like the whole contrasting styles either, since one team always gets outplayed.

No interest in seeing a game with no defense. Just like I don't like seeing a game with all defense and it's a field goal kicking contest. A well played game, that turns into a shootout is one thing.

Baylor/Oregon will have no defense,. It'll be like playing a game on easy. Meh.

In most cases, dealing with Oregon, its gonna be either or though. I actually dont mind seeing a game with no defense if it isnt my team playing lol.

Honestly though, the only equally balanced teams are Bama and FSU.

This. When Oregon got down two scores, I knew it would take a miracle for them to win the game (which they almost got crazy enough). If Oregon scores on those two opening drives...the has a good chance to turn out differently, but if you can't capitalize on touchdowns when you're five yards or less from the goal line, you shouldn't win the game.

Oregon's ability to win games is to build a quick lead and force the opposing team into passing to catch up or to play even for most of the game and then pull away. If Oregon falls behind a team that can run the ball, they have essentially no chance to win the game without crazy plays happening (blocked kick, onside kick, fumble recovery, etc.).

I talked to my dad this morning and he was so heated at DAT. Said that he thinks DAT doesn't focus and doesn't seem to care about fixing his ball security issues. He thinks that DAT is arrogant and isn't always committed to the game or the preparation that it takes to win games. He railed on him for about 10 minutes

TOP is irrelevant though in a sense that it doesnt matter how long you have the ball but what you do when you have it.

42 to 17, true , but Stanford only out gained Oregon by 65 yards.

TOP doesn't mean **** when it come to Oregon. They fumbled the ball twice and got screwed over on the interception. Oregons offense was moving down the field with a gimp Mariota. Stanford did not dominate
