OSU doesn't even have a dog in this fight yet.

I know Oregon's not accustomed to kicking field goals, but damn, it feels like that Maldonado kid has been missing kicks for them since the Bellotti days. How many years of eligibility does that kid have?

Are Nike soccer cleats not enticing enough to attract a decent kicker to Oregon? Are they that arrogant that they don't feel the need to recruit a decent kicker?

actually maldonado was one of the top kicking recruits in the country.

You honestly think a major football program is going to give out more than 2 scholarships for kickers?

College football? Yes. It's probably more common than not to find a program carrying 3-4 scholarship kickers/punters on a roster. With 85 scholarships it's not hard to do.

You know scholarships are renewed on a yearly basis right?

Kickers/Punters "leave" teams all the time,

And what kind of message does that send to recruits? Why would somebody want to go to a school if they have to fear their scholarship getting bounced because they struggled

No message sent, players get dismissed for various reasons. It's not even mentioned as a negative recruiting tool because all schools do it. Struggling is one thing, completely sucking is another.

 @ the notion that scholly's are automatically renewed.

14-0
B12 is a juggernaut now?

Texas Tech isn't very good. Oklahoma isn't very good. Texas isn't very good. Oklahoma State isn't very good.

Since when does the core of a conference have to be "very good" to be better than the ACC? The conference is complete garbage after an extremely average at best Miami squad...

Why else would all you Florida State fans be scared as hell they might get jumped in the BCS? Probably because they know their conference sucks and they only have one or two wins that really hold weight.

tell me all about players that have scholarships removed because they didn't live up to their expectations from high school. Theres a difference from academic or off the field issues. But when a player gives it his all but wasn't what you thought, kind of screwed up to remove his scholarship because you ****** up recruiting him

Because a then undefeated Oregon plays in a better conference than Baylor. ACC this year is a better conference than the Big 12. Good chance by the end of the year Okie St, TT & UT all finish the season unranked by the time Baylor finishes it's season. And considering they started the season unranked you'll have a hard time convincing voters to put Baylor ahead of traditional powers like a Florida State or a Ohio State.

It happens everywhere. If you think Oregon doesn't do it you're lying to yourself. There's no way a 3rd stringer could have gotten away with the stuff Colt Lyerla was doing. You think it's coincidence he gets caught with coke AFTER getting kicked off the program?

A lot of these "transfers" you see at schools aren't exactly voluntary.

Same with some of the players that get "dismissed" at schools. A lot of things can get covered up based on your play. If you're a player that can be replaced? You're probably not going to have the same amount of chances as a superstar.

Go look at some of these recruiting classes with 30+ players. Most of those programs don't have enough scholarships open to take all the players as of signing day. Once it's time for the new recruits to enroll, there's enough room... Take a guess how that happens?

Then tell me why Maldonado is still on the team? All these times players apparently would get kicked off the team for sucking and the poster boy for sucking is still on the team?

Swear on everything, real conversation going on here at work. No joke....

[Duck fan]

"I don't get it, we lost to a top 5 school, Stanford lost to an unranked team, we should still be ahead of them, their loss is worse than ours......"

And multiple people are nodding their heads agreeing with him.  :smh:

They have no idea why I'm sitting here at my desk lookin like Josh Huff with tears rollin down my cheeks.

Every fanbase has these stans.

The ACC is not better than the Big 12 bruh...

It's not even that close, when FSU or Clemson (an the Tigers have their issues too) aren't playing, the ACC inter-conference games include the most struggle football known to man... just flat out ugly.

You're the Ducks fan, you tell us,

Has to be arrogance at this point, since Oregon blows out most of their competition, so they probably don't feel the need to have a decent kicker. However, when they play that ONE game where maybe three points is a solid option, they have to rely on Maldonado.

Arrogance at this point.

YoungBuck touched on it already, when scholarships don't get renewed it is not the way it gets presented to the public. Academic/off field issues are always stated as the reason. If you are Bama, you play the medical card,.

Clemson is better than every team in the B12 sans Baylor, and they can probably beat Baylor too.

While I think Okie State & UT are underrated it still doesn't change that the conference is down.

He'll the ACC is better than the Big Ten this year too.

Seems like you let a lot of homers make up what you think of Oregon and Portland team fanbases. If I was to move to Cali or Miami I'd probably run into homers too especially at work or in the streets. You rarely meet any decent people who can keep conversations about sports. I just keep it moving after one dumb statement.

If the game was at a neutral site, Clemson would not come within 10 points of Baylor, an I'd put money on Oklahoma St. beating them as well. An even with that, FROM TOP TO BOTTOM the ACC is complete garbage, like I said... once you get past FSU & Clemson the Big 12's teams from 3-6 would sh*t on everybody else in the ACC. No question.

I lived in Cali, certainly homers, but also a ton of wise wise folks out that way.

I RARELY, RARELY, encounter wise Oregon folk. (Ducks, Blazers, Seahawks, or Beavers) (Yes Seahawks, because most of this state claims them)

I listen to these fools all day. I listen to them on the radio. I listen to family members. Friends of family members. Friends.

They're all dumb. Every ****** one of them. Every loss was by the mistake of a ref. The Lakers, SEC, 49ers, etc are overrated. The Pac-12, Ducks, Seahawks, Blazers, underrated. Best fans, etc etc.

It gets said, over, and over and over around here. It never stops, it never ends. Year after year I "think" they'll get it this time. Then I hear stuff like......... "this year is different". "We want Bama" Those previous 7 losses have nothing to do with THIS team........(proceeds to lose in the exact same manner as previous 7)

Clock, and work.

Every year.

9 months from now, it will start again. SEC sucks, Ducks Ducks Ducks, this year is different, blah blah blah, face physical team, L. And I'll have to type this stupid post yet again. Cuz I'll hear the same talk at work, radio, home, etc, again.

Cali has like 30 teams. Pro, college, minor league, etc. Multiple sports, tons and tons of options. Oregon has like 4 teams, one per sport, and it's all the same mindless zombies following each team. They listen to the same homer announcers, believe the same "everyone against us" ********, and carry it like a cross every single year.

Please, don't act like I don't know what I'm sayin, or this is somethin new. I've said this same stuff year after year about these fanbases. I hear the same ridiculous crap all the time. It's not like that "everywhere". Some fanbases, sure, probably dumb too. No question. But state by state, I doubt there's one dumber than this bunch of tards squawkin. *shrugs*

Who's that dude that died on here after the Boise State game? Exile on Ivy Street or somethin like that. That dude, is EXACTLY who I refer too. Clueless ************ that ran his mouth about the Ducks, Blazers, Seahawks every damn day. He was a ****** joke. And is the perfect example of how this state is.

Chester, is the opposite of him. Somehow, Chester has a brain and sees a bigger picture in the sports world. He backs his team, but knows that there are players/teams outside of Oregon that do just fine.

RIP Exile.......you piece of ****.

(he's not really dead folks, just bailed on NT after the Boise State game years ago)
