Nice to see USC with a big victory again

They gonna hire him as coach?
if he beats ucla and we get to the pac 12 championship game and we smash oregon. its his. Other than that,  i don't know if he's the right guy. Once the honeymoon's over, and we don't start winning games, then people are going to turn on him like CLK.

As long as we handle business at Colorado and then beat the bruins IMO it's his job 100%. Can't imagine bringing anyone else to replace him after what he did this year turning the team around. Especially with everything they've been through this year.

There are still improvements to be made in the staff. See how Stanford made halftime adjustments and we didn't. The second half was terrible for the most part offensively, thankfully we made big plays down the stretch and defense stayed strong throughout even with the lack of depth.

So many recruits were at this game too, they got to see a good one :pimp:

Can I ask this?

What's worse, losing to ranked or unranked teams? This is the third time in last 21 games a top 10 Stanford team has lost to an unranked team. I know that Oregon has their losses in the past few years, but they haven't lost to an inferior opponent since probably 2009. Since then, their losses have come against:

2009, Boise State (14-0) - Final ranking #4
2009, Stanford (8-5)
2009, Ohio State (11-2) - Final ranking #5
2010, Auburn (14-0) - Final ranking #1
2011, LSU (13-1) - Final ranking #2
2011, USC (10-2) - Final ranking #6
2012, Stanford (12-2) - Final ranking #7
2013, Stanford (8-2) - TBD

Total record of these teams Oregon has lost to: 90-14 (.957 winning percentage of those teams).

Stanford on the other hand, since 2010 has lost to these teams:

2010, Oregon (13-1) - Final ranking #3
2011, Oregon (12-2) - Final ranking #4
2012, Washington (7-6)
2012, Notre Dame (12-1) - Final ranking #4
2013, Utah (4-6) - TBD
2013, USC (8-3) - TBD

Total record of these teams Stanford has lost to since 2010: 56-19 (.746 winning percentage of those teams). Keep in mind that I completely left out the 2009 season for Stanford in which they had five losses that included: Wake Forest (5-7), Oregon State (8-5), Arizona (8-5), California (8-5), Oklahoma (8-5).

Some more questions brought up by these numbers is this: why doesn't Stanford get a bad rap for losing to unranked or weaker opponents? People are saying that Oregon's loss to Stanford last week set the program back years (which is ridiculous and beyond knee-jerk), yet Stanford's losses to unranked/mediocre teams somehow doesn't do anything to harm their image? I'm not disputing Oregon's inability to win some of their bigger games in the past, but it's not like they haven't lost to anybody they shouldn't have lost to (outside of Stanford in 2009).

I'd just like to get some opinion about these perceptions of Oregon and Stanford given their losses.

BTW, all rankings are based on final AP poll in each year.

Because Stanford isn't really hyped up every single year by espn. ESPN and networks hype them up so much with there offense and how dynamic they are. They set Oregon up for failure if they don't win a NC.

So just to get feedback, USC fans are content with Ed Ogeron as the coach going forward in the future?

I would like them to bring in new blood for head coach, but keep CEO on staff. A lot of fans on the boards want to keep him though, especially after tonight.

bleeds cardinal and gold, everyone loves the guy, and we're winning

If he wins the next two games hiring anybody else would be the wrong move.

He needs the next two though because 1) Colorado is 1-6 in the Pac-12
2) can't lose to the bruins :x

Would be pretty cool to see Orgeron pull a college version of Bill Belichick and turn his coaching image around. If he got the job.

Are Stanford & Oregon's program expectations the same? And I wouldn't exactly call the losses Oregon took to '11 USC & '11 Stanford losses they should have taken. I mean they did come at Autzen in which they were high favorites in.

Agreed, but those teams ended the season with only two losses and turned out to be pretty good teams. Both were ranked at the time as well. I understand your point of home vs. away games though.

I think we were favorites when we lost to USC and Stanford at home and this year at Stanford. I believe that's why we get so criticized and I agree with 365's post on the ESPN hype and the hype we get in general.

If Oregon ever gets over the hump and gets a NT, I think the hype and hate will die down. There's always criticism when a top 5 team loses though not just.

Miami loss was ugly but I called that **** last sunday when I mulled over if I wanted to go or not

Glad I didn't waste my time :smh:

Congrats to duke tho...never thought I'd see them get this far in football but cutcliffe is hella dedicated to the program....hopefully he sticks until he's done

Congrats to USC fans too....glad y'all can get some happiness after bum *** kiffin
