2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

Budda Baker likely a Duck after his OV.

I'd be surprised if Oregon can steal Adoree last minute with a visit to Eugene.

I have watched every Georgia game except for App. State and Auburn. I'll be watching the Auburn game either today or tomorrow...so...

Wait, you watched UGA play N Texas?

I find it hard to believe you can't objectively view UGA as a shell of the team they were to begin the season. You said you can't find a team on Clemson's schedule that can match UCLA. Throw out rankings (either then or now) and is UCLA better than the UGA team Clemson played?

You don't consider LSU, Clemson, etc all that good and once again that's fine...but remind me what you think of UCLA? And what they or Oregon can count as quality wins in comparison?

I just feel like there are a few teams this year that stand out above the rest and right now Bama & FSU are a cut above everyone else. So unless you beat one of them or have a schedule with a few legitimate top 15 teams, whether they're very good or just good AND beat them, anyone's schedule or legitimacy can be questioned...whether it's Clemson, or one of these SEC teams or Oregon, UCLA or a PAC-12 team.

I won't argue that Oregon isn't a better team because I think they are but my main point is that UGA is far from the same team (no Mitchell, Marshall, JSW and they were without a healthy Gurley + some others...just on offense) and you can't tell that just by watching them is surprising.

What the majority of the college football fanbase fails to pay attention to is the line of scrimmage. Everybody is caught up in scoring and skill players, but when it comes down to it, the best teams have monsters up front....

Look at Bama's success... you think you give them Oregon's o-line and d-line, they win all those 'chips? No.

There are a number of teams that could compete with(and most likely beat) Oregon in the SEC... LSU, Mizzou, Bama, Auburn come to mind(Although Auburn has depth issues on the d-line). I'm not saying there isn't talent on the ducks line of scrimmage, it's just a player here, a player there. Bama produces NFL talent at ALL big positions. (Along with UF, LSU, ect.)

ninjallama--The only 2 teams in the PAC that put the talent up front are Stanford and USC... If you think UCLA could compete with teams like Georgia and LSU, you got another thing coming my friend... it would be disastrous. Hell, BC would beat UCLA by 14 imo. they have bigs... UCLA has a nice quarterback.

Josh Malone has received and signed his aid agreement from Florida State and will be returning it in the morning. He's already signed with Georgia and Tennessee. The reason this is big news to FSU fans is because now the staff can have unlimited contact with Malone and his family, something that Tennessee has been taking advantage of since Malone signed last week.

USC receiver commit Shay Fields Jr. (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco), was in the middle of the celebration.

“The locker room was really crazy,” Fields said. “Everybody was dancing and going crazy in there. The recruits were loving the intensity inside that locker room. Now I’m trying to get everybody (to join me).”

Fields had a number of recruits to choose from, as the Trojans drew the presence of local recruits whom have made pledges elsewhere, including Cal athlete commit Jaleel Wadood  (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco), Miami quarterback commit Brad Kaaya  (West Hills, Calif./Chaminade), Cal running back commit Tre Watson  (Corona, Calif./Centennial) and UCLA receiver commit Jordan Lasley  (Gardena, Calif./Serra).

“It definitely gives me something to think about,” Wadood said. “It was a huge win for SC. I’m still trying to decide if I will take an official visit. My last one will be between Washington and USC.”

Kaaya, a four-star pocket passer who landed an offer from childhood favorite USC shortly after Orgeron took the helm, surprised his mother with tickets for her birthday.

“It was exciting to watch,” Kaaya said. “Funny thing is, the first college football game I ever saw was Stanford-USC at the Coliseum when USC lost. This time, it seemed like the situation switched and USC came out on top.”

Where you at Adoree?

Bruh. I just need Coach O to promise he'll stay, even if JDR, Sumlin, Chollie or Gruden (
Texas Tech tries to lay claim to Texas with LONE STAR uniforms
The third- and fourth-best teams in Texas will play on Thanksgiving, and Texas Tech will have to back up their uniforms' claim that the Longhorns are the fourth.

Since Texas can't play Texas A&M on Thanksgiving anymore, they now play other teams from the Lone Star State... and it turns out that other team maybe wants to make it clear that this is, in fact, also their state.

Yup, that's what Texas Tech will be wearing during the game against the Longhorns. "The Red Raiders are #ARMOURED for state-wide bragging rights," the team's FB page says -- which works, you know, if you ignore Baylor and Texas A&M and stuff.

Jokes aside, the uniforms are pretty slick. We've got flaggy-stars on the shoulders:

The socks:

And the thighs:

Texas Tech actually did home versions of these last year, too.

That said, the last time Under Armour gave the Red Raiders matching BOLD CLAIM nameplates, things didn't exactly go well:

I'm not a huge fan of uniform talk and it's not really directed at those but I think it's corny when teams wear uniforms that have nothing to do with the school's colors and **** or have corny phrases on the back, unless both have to do with honoring the military or a cause.

Like schools whose colors are red & yellow wearing black or grey uniforms, it just seems forced at this point and they're trying to stand out. I don't know...I think one of the great things about college football is that these schools have unique traditions and an identity...I'm far from conservative and I like change but the uniform thing is so overdone. It's like some people get more excited about what their team is wearing than the game itself.

So the thing about not being able to sign a grant with schools in the same conference wasn't true?

U can sign grant papers wherever and to how manyteams u want. It is not binding contract..

It only allows unlimited contact.

Smh. Fsu tried to ruin his moment :smh:
