2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

(rumor) State Attorney has scheduled a presser tomorrow re: the Winston case. With what I heard lately, it's not looking good

That is fine, but all conferences must go to eight games. There also has to be a criteria, for example three out of the four OOC games must be played against teams from a BCS conference and the fourth game must be against an FBS team. No more FCS teams on the schedule.

I'm sure it will help the Harlem Globetrotters a ton if they play the Heat, Celtics, Lakers, Bulls, etc. doesn't mean it should be a part of their regular season.

I don't think it's the job of FBS schools to fund FCS schools and if that is the case, call them exhibition games and don't count it as part of their regular season record.

Amen, @ooIRON MANoo. This FCS crap has got to stop. There should be ZERO reward for those who play games like that. If you're the best team, go out and play some of the best and prove your worth. The fact that people think Mizzou is worthy of being the title discussion is laughable, same goes for Alabama. Alabama basically has one quality win on their schedule and that's LSU. I don't care that Alabama won the title last year: this year they haven't done much to say "we're the best team in the country* (*=living off past teams' merits)."

If CFB is serious about a playoff, get some damn structure in the system and set some ground rules :smh:

Hearing Saban to Texas is a done deal. Heard something like 10 years $75 million.

Huh? You blowing smoke or do you have sources?

Very reliable people on the OU message boards heard from multiple sources and Ryan Broyles even mentioned something of it on twitter. Obviously, nothing is confirmed but these people have usually been spot on.

Why is that? How many teams are better than Mizzou this year?

This is my opinion but I think these teams beat Mizzou (outside of SEC)

Florida State
Stanford
Oregon
Arizona State
Oklahoma State

They're like Alabama. They've gone through an easy schedule.

Record of teams Alabama has played: 74-71 or a .510 winning percentage, 7 games against FBS bowl eligible teams
Record of teams Mizzou has played: 83-61 or a .576 winning percentage, 8 games against FBS bowl eligible teams (includes Auburn record for upcoming SEC title game)

Other teams I mentioned have played against more difficult schedules in a "weaker" conference according to many, at least according to their record.

Record of teams Stanford has played: 91-65, 10 games against bowl eligible teams, a .583 winning percentage (includes Arizona State twice as a result of Pac-12 title rematch)
Record of teams Arizona State has played: 96-61, 10 games against bowl eligible teams, a .611 winning percentage (includes Stanford twice as a result of Pac-12 title rematch)

What 10 teams are better than Mizzou?

FSU
Bama
Ohio State
Ok. State
Baylor
Stanford
Oregon
South Carolina (beat Mizzou already)
Michigan State
Auburn

Missouri played the softest Non-Conference schedule, in SEC play they lost to the best team they played all year in South Carolina, there marquee wins are against overrated Florida, depleted UGA team, overhyped Miss, and A&M who would win on a neutral field

Don't let that SEC schedule fool you, they didn't play LSU, Bama, or Auburn during conference.

He won't be charged.

Quick thought if he were to be charged and both FSU, Auburn, and Ohio State all won. Would voters move FSU down in the polls so that Auburn would play OSU.

I was editing my post while others were responding. Here is what I wrote in addition to my first post.

But I didn't ask y'all who had a better record, or who played the tougher teams. I ask who were better teams.

Segment vs Segment, What you see from them on the field, their strengths/Weaknesses, etc.

The better team not the stronger SOS

I can understand arguments for some teams, but more than 5? FOH.

He's legit. Fisch wanted him but when he left for the NFL and Coley came in we pretty much stopped recruiting him.
Thanks. He's one of our '14 commits and I only learned about him today because of an article in the local paper. There's definitely going to be a QB competition in training camp. Should be interesting to see where he finishes.

Y'all gonna let him stick @ QB?
