2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

It's awesome that the donor made the donation for yall to get the tickets half priced. have you heard around campus as to who made the donation? I've asked some friends from back home ( i used to live in Goshen) but they hadnt heard anything.

No idea who did it, tons of people are wondering.. I still need to see if I get these tickets, I'll find out next monday

Oregon dropped Redfield.

Interesting.
I don't really follow recruiting much but I stumbled on something earlier that said he's down to ND and SC with ND leading now (though some people seem to think he's sticking with SC and only decommitted because of Oregon's rules on committed players and recruitment.)  I couldn't find anything on whether this is why chip backed off him though (i'm not a member of any sites.)

can you fill me in?

Rumor is that Oregon believes that Redfield is all Notre Dame. Told him they only have one scholarship left, wanted a commitment, didn't get it. Going after Jalen Ramsey now,.

When it comes to Oregon though, don't believe anything that comes out of their camp, Funny that people think they don't go after guys that are already committed. (Not talking about DAT either, that's history).

My educated guess is the Butch Jones doesn't take this Colorado job. Not sure if he holds out to see if all of Tennessee's first options fall through, though? Cincy seems willing to open up the pockets to match the offer from CU, which seems to be $2.7mill per year.

Justin Manning announcing Thursday. Down to TAMU, OU, and TCU. Supposedly Stoops pissed him really bad within the last week...told Manning that if he wasn't going to commit to OU, then he shouldn't have an OU hat on the table at his press conference

The way Sumlin has been going lately, I feel really good about this one :pimp: Whoever he commits to is probably going to have to fight to hold onto him through signing day.

Lmao butch can forget it. Interviewing Mora jr tomorrow. Decision will be announced wednesday after phat phils HOF indiction

did mora call or they called him?

Has to be Vols phone call, and they may have thrown a crazy number at Mora to get his attention.

All I hear out of Westwood is how much Mora hates CFB politics and is waiting for an NFL team to call. Does Mazzone get a shot if Mora leaves? Doubt Mazzone and Klemm leave with Mora unless they get fat raises.

Rumors saying Briles is the guy at Arkansas and Gundy jr is the leader for Vols. Just rumors, ive heard nothing substantial

I. Love mora but hes out at the 1st nfl offer
NFL or Udub.

i never heard that ironman about him hating college life he seems to tell everyone he loves it. but if it comes down to $$$ he is as good as gone. UCLA cant match any big offers.

briles makes so much sense at arkansas. i dont see gundy leaving at all

Hates the coddling and what it takes to convince a 16 to 18 year old to play for your team. Practice restrictions, and the fact you can't cut players that are dead weight. Wanted to cut more of Rick's kids but was talked out of it.

Doesn't hate Westwood or UCLA, just CFB politics.

On another note, Manti cleaning up on the awards circuit, the hype is strong.

Makes sense, of course. He's an NFL guy through and through, would prefer to deal with players as he has been nearly his entire coaching career.

I think a good reason we are seeing all of these watered down BCS games are a product of the extra game the BCS added after the 2005 season so that more non AQ schools could get in. Utah pounding Pitt in the 2005 Fiesta Bowl added to the debate that the top end non AQ teams can not only compete but beat teams from AQ conferences.

Before the added extr game you seen a team like Oklahoma & Texas play in the Rose Bowl when the respective from the then Big Televen & PAC 10 (Ohio State in 2002 & USC in 2004.

Also when the BCS added that a non AQ team has to be in the top 16 to qualify it ran the risk of a situation like this happening. While not quite 2007 like I do think overall 2012 was a down year for college football. While ND and Alabama are playing for the title I don't think you can point to a signature moment in any of those teams respective seasons and say those are no doubt the 2 best teams in the country. 2 very good teams but not great teams.

Being a big CFB follower it's just my opinion and I'm sure many will disagree. Solid season nonetheless.

Auburn made these shirts and are passing out around campus. They are calling it War Irish

Garrick is the truth, Reggie Johnson won't cut it though. Somebody will take that chance on Bobby. For now, he's sticking around Fayetteville.

Charlie Strong may have been contacted by us, but there is barely any info getting leaked since Saturday evening. A couple of reporters have been reporting we offered Franklin 5 mil.

At this point, I would like to see my coach Gus get a shot, but I have heard Long is still waiting it out.
