Colorado job is tough. I could see a HUGE name coach going in there and winning, but what big name would want to go to that school.  Correct me if I'm wrong but they're really hard on money aren't they?  How would any middling coach compete against the Cali and Texas schools and Oklahoma? 

I think whoever gets the Colorado job next will have a longer rope than Embree, but still Purdue is probably the safer job right now.

Nah fam.

There are FOUR jobs just in the SEC that are better (Alabama, LSU, Florida, Georgia) than Tennessee. Throw in Southern Cal, Oklahoma, Texas, Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State and there's your Top 10.

I'll give you Top 15 though.

Jim Mora met with the UCLA administration Monday and gave them assurances that he and his staff intend to remain at UCLA...

Jim Mora is staying at UCLA, according to good sources close to the football program.
The UCLA administration met with Mora Monday and he assured them that he's not entertaining any other coaching position and committed to returning to UCLA.

Apparently, Mora and his agent did receive overtures from other programs, but he turned them down, the sources indicated.

Mora's entire staff, too, is committed to returning. Of course, guaranteeing the entire staff will return is a bit dubious, but as of now the staff intends to return.

Mora, according to sources, wanted assurances from UCLA that it intends to increase the staff's salaries, and to further support the football program financially.

Sources have told us that Mora, after achieving the first clearly successful football season at UCLA since 2005, has expressed to UCLA a need for more resources, in terms of facilities, better staff support, and an effort to generate more fan support.

A big factor for Mora is also his family, and the life they've established in Los Angeles. When Mora got the UCLA job, he moved from Seattle to Manhattan Beach with his wife and three of their four children. The eldest son, a senior at Bellevue High School, has remained in the Seattle area to finish his senior year. The other three, who range in age from 16 to 10, made the move to L.A. and, according to sources, have settled in well. His wife, Shannon, also has many friends in the L.A. area, and Mora's parents, too, live in Palm Springs. The coach, according to sources close to the situation, given all of these ties, doesn't want to uproot his family again with another move. The son who is a senior in high school, also, is reportedly interested in playing soccer at UCLA.

I've been to Camp Randall a few times and watched his teams from a distance, but damn that is not a coach that was even on the radar. Jeff Long is a certified magician, no leaks at all, minus the Patterson/Miles stuff. :lol:
 
Wow, that's a shock. My boy on the squad at Wisky said they had a team meeting yesterday and they could tell that something was up by the way that he was talking yesterday. They must've thrown a whole lot of money at him because he was set there.

The rumor's been tossed around but so has the Big 12 even lately. I don't know if anything would happen until there's a better idea of whether the $50m buyout will hold up. Other rumor with the SEC was that UF would block FSU's admittance & SCar would block Clemson. Who knows but those two programs would definitely be affected by their in-state rivals joining. Also, it doesn't add any TV market.

Here's the quote from Bielema when the dust up with Meyer occurred earlier this year, “I can tell you this, we at the Big Ten don’t want to be like the SEC—in any way, shape or form.” Lulz that he's going to the SEC now...

The more I think about it, I think he realized how attractive Arkansas was. More money, better facilities, etc. I just don't know how someone whose a midwestern lifer (played at Iowa, assist coach at Iowa and Kansas State before going to Wisconsin) will adjust to recruiting in the South. He can coach but setting up his network for recruiting in SEC land might be tough for him...Shoot I could be wrong...

LOL. This **** is so crazy. Chryst reassuring a kid I know who's committed to Pitt and said that Golden will be the next Coach at Wisky.
