*2012 NFC North Trash Talking Thread: Playoffs. Packers drilled by San Francisco/Kaepernick.

Ah, yes. Finally this thread takes its final bow tomorrow after the Packers claim the division title once again.
:D :D :D :D

As a Bears fan, let me be first to say congrats. They arent winning the game today, simple as that.

The Packers will claim the division today, the Bears will be lucky to even get into the Playoffs with a Wild Card spot. If they do, theyll be one and done. Lovie will be fired after the season, I almost guarantee it. Its time to clean house and get a coach who actually gives a damn about winning.

Lovie will more than likely end up on the Jets, Eagles, or Cowboys as their coach next season.

Lovie Smith will be gone after this season. Hester needs to go too, hes had one unproductive season and should only be regulated to special teams only. Brandon Marshall was right to call the front office out

What a week leading up to the game this would be.

How wonderful that would be. Getting a little excited about the possible playoff berth and if that comes through then we'd be in for a great game potentially in GB.

Definitely a team Minnesota is not afraid of at all and can beat. It can also go the other way too though so who knows. Just get in Minnesota!!!

Do you really think they're getting in? I feel like they'd have to win both of their next two games. There's just no way...

I don't know bro.

I keep trying to say to myself, "it was a fun run, but ain't now way." But the more I see, the better I feel. NFC East is a logjam with teams still having to battle it out against eachother so there is probably the winner of the division and then the rest just on the outside. Even if Minnesota loses to Houston (not in-conference) I think they beat GB, so even at 9-7 it's possible. Feel much better if they won out though.

Not scared of Houston at all though.

The only drawback for Minnesota is the Green Bay is playing for a bye and will try to win. Not like last year against the lions where we played backups. But gotta give props to the Vikings. We all thought they would be 4-12 and they are fighting for a playoff spot. But the division is still ours :pimp:

The only thing that sucks is that we didn't have any wins that people say, "Wow. They got lucky" Wins like the 49ers, Lions x2, Bears, Rams, etc. were all victories that people said we were the better team in that game.

But there were a lot of losses that we wish we could have had back... like the Colts when we didn't even know they were a good team. Got that game to OT, and then Vinatieri was Vinatieri.

Bucs at home? Come on.

Would have been up by 14 at Lambeau had Ponder not thrown that EZ interception.

Argh, just frustrating. It's been right there for us all season.

Yup. I agree. Two that sting me are the losses to GB and Chi. Outplayed GB all game, but Ponder blew it big time. And they outplayed Chicago for the better portion of the game, but they kept setting up Chicago with great field position. :smh:

There's other games of course, but even if they get just one of those then they'll probably make the playoffs for sure.

We ******g suck, some coaches and players definitely lost their jobs for next season after this performance.

I would like to see who my fellow Lions fans think should go. I will start off and make my list.

Coaches:
Scott Linehan, shouldn't need to explain much, he has to be one of the worst OC in the league.
Gunther Cunningham. Fails to make any adjustments at all during the season. Outdated defensive schemes.
Special teams coach. Has been a sore spot all year.

Players:
Kyle Vanden Bosch. He is done, over the hill, has no moves. Tired of seeing him rush outside and put himself out of position every damn play.
Deandre Levy. This dude would struggle to make 2nd string on most teams. He can't shed a block if his life depended on it and constantly runs into the wrong hole.
Jacob Lacey. Our only FA signing from last year, and he came from a league worst Colts team, enough said.

Jeff Backus. He sucks at this point, gets beat almost every damn play, time to hang it up.
Dominic Raiola. He is old, undersized, and a complete liability.
Stephen Peterman. He is terrible and so damn slow.
Titus Young. A diva, think it's already a forgone conclusion he is gone.
Nate Burelson. He is old, isn't a big enough threat to keep teams honest with Calvin.
Stephan Logan. Hasn't had a return in years. He is slow for a return specialist.

There are probably more but I can' think at this point. I like Schwartz but if he doesn't make the moves with his coaching staff he needs to go as well. I can't watch another season of a team coached up by Linehan and Cunningham. Cunningham talks about all these different schemes he wants to try and all this ****, but never implements it in games. Our corners play 10 yds back and give up quick slants all season and not one time have I seen them play up and bump a receiver to try and disrupt a route. We need some bigger corners to play man coverage and get physical. That and o-line should at the top of the list for positional needs. And I don't want to see them reach for a player like last year. Riley Reif man, the way they use him makes no sense. They bring him in as an extra blocker and it is no question it is a run and which way the run is going. Like they just have to run plays like that so he can get on the field and us fans are supposed to think he isn't a bust of a pick. A first rounder should be a certified starter, not someone who you bring in special cases.

To clear things up a bit...

Vikings' easiest path to playoffs:

Win out to finish 10-6, and hope the Giants lose one of their final two games. It's that simple. The Vikings would be 10-6, a game ahead of the Giants and in possession of a tiebreaker over the Bears. Because the Cowboys and ******** play each other in the season finale, one of them won't finish with 10 wins, and the other would win the NFC East. That would leave the Vikings as the No. 6 seed in the NFC.

What if they don't win out?

The Vikings can make the playoffs at 9-7, but they would need the Giants to finish third in the NFC East so the Vikings could claim the spot by virtue of a higher finish in their division. The Vikings could qualify even at 8-8, but they would need the Bears, Cowboys and Giants to lose also their remaining two games.

this might sound crazy but what if vikings get in the playoffs - and ponder gets hot. + best RB in the league
you never know......:D

I love the optimism, but a hot Ponder is essentially Sage Rosenfels.

The best QB on the Vikings.... thaaaat we cut in the offseason.
