Does It Even Make Sense To Buy Jordans On Release Date?

Haven't visited a store since the WC4's, still going to get what i want at retail which is $220 here, so i guess I should say re-sell :smh:

Because im already getting my pockets squeezed from JB for shoes I paid $40 less for 5 years ago and Im not about to pay resellers $50 extra when I could wake my *** up myself and get em for retail.

In CA is hard to get a Jordan shoe on RD alot of people have been camping out for almost every pair that drop. I wouldnt mind purchasing after RD, but the taxes you have to pay are outrageous sometimes. Luckily I have been lucky to find people that work at footlocker or house of hoops and there taxes arent too bad. Worst comes to worse I will be camping out in December for the XI.

To me, getting sneakers for the intended retail is a part of the "game". It gives the consumer total control to maximize the market value of the shoe if they decide they dont like it anymore.

I agree with all of you...as consumers and sneaker heads, we need to voice this to Nike to lower the prices, because sneakers these days are being bought and sold as a commodity like gold, buy low and sell high, not 1200.00 high but close enough. Until this happens mark my words prices will continue to escalate to new high, ie foamposites, my favorite show now costs $240.00 as of $180.00, wow.  I also agree with the member above, I hate paying more than retail especially when the cost like $20.00 to make and some individual will make a quick $50.00+ from me, the shoe game is getting REALLY RIDICULOUS, ONE

Personally? ..the fact that we know months in advance something is dropping, makes me fiend.
If I want a shoe? ..that 6 month wait from when the pics. & confirmation hit, to RD? ..that's long enough a wait, for me.
I'd rather stand in line for a few hours, instead of trying to track them down or barter at some point down the line.
Rather NOT deal w/shipping, tracking numbers, Paypal, fraud, etc.

I feel the exact same way!!!

Just curious, but how many shoes do you have in your rotation? There are 7 days a week so if you wore a different shoe every day, you'd only need 7 pairs. Let's say you had a specific pair for a specific function - i.e. a running shoe, a basketball shoe, lawn mowing shoe, etc... you could have a need for about 14 pairs.

My point is that we don't NEED these shoes, definitely not on RD when you're forced to pay MSRP or at worst reseller price. So what if you don't get your camo or 'weather pattern' Foamposite at a price that's affordable to you? Since you're favourite shoe is the 'Foamposite' then you more than likely have several other Foamposites in your 'collection' - wear those.

It's the Pokemon 'Gotta catch 'em all' mentality that's causing MSRPs to skyrocket like they have.
