I can confirm this as correct as well. I have a regular wheat pair of Timbs from a store in the mall with the one big collar. 

I bought a black suede pair last year with the double collar from the outlets. My wife and I bought her little brother the black seudes from DTLR last Christmas and his had the 1 big collar as well.

Yea I never really noticed it until last year when we got her brother's pair. I had seen the wheat double collars before, but they just didn't look right to me for some reason. I am guessing with the blacks it sort of just blends in more, so I didn't notice or care as much. That and I always have pants on with mine, so you couldn't see it anyways to be able to tell.

Not sure what it was, but I saw the Nike Lunardome 1 boots in the store over the weekend, and I was tempted to get the black pair. Wasn't too sure about the olive colorway, but the black ones weren't too bad to me. The sole in them felt

Between regular Nike Boots, a couple pairs of Timbs, Polo boots, and a couple pairs of Nike ACGs winterize sneakers, I am not sure when I would wear them or actually need them. 

Who are we kidding though....this is NikeTalk after all.....we will end buying them and wearing them a couple times and then they will be added to our collections in the closet

Looking for a simple everyday lifetime boot under 300. I'm leaning towards wolverine 1000 miles. Any other suggestions? I found some timberland 9 eye coulters at Nordstrom rack I really liked for $190 (msrp is 425) and the 1000s are like $260 on eBay.

I've heard nothing but great things about the leather on the Wolverines. Only thing that would stop me is they have leather soles but you can get some rubber ones put on and they are re-soleable so they will last a long time.
